Foreword
Web series on streaming platforms have warranted a far more emotional investment both for actors in the cast and from the viewers who would try and get involved in the characters. Their sequels, however, are rarely as engrossing as the original first season of episodic developments. And for the same reason, I, for one, am a tad sceptical about watching successive seasons with as much enthusiasm as I am for the preceding ones. Unless it is ‘Made In Heaven’.
Made in Heaven Season 2
This series is a compelling watch and though there isn’t anything spectacularly novel about its storyline, the production values, immaculate writing and superb acting by the entire cast makes it riveting. It represents what present-day India is all about. Conservative on the one hand and modern in many ways with progressive mindsets of traditional people who face conflicting ideas to deal with at every step.

Neeraj has directed episode three titled ‘And they lived happily ever after’, and episode five titled ‘The heart skipped a beat’.

The trailer for the second season of the International Emmy nominated show, ‘Made in Heaven’, which was unveiled on Tuesday promises riveting storytelling laced with grandeur, drama, dark secrets, and the societal problems that cut across the spectrum and class.
The trailer was launched at a five star property in Mumbai’s Santa Cruz area and saw a heartfelt performance by the band Bombay Brass on the beautifully decorated set ahead of its launch.
The trailer begins on an aesthetic note with all things beautiful and elite, bringing a bit of nostalgia from the Zoya Akhtar directorial ‘Dil Dhadakane Do’. It shows the drama in elite circles surrounding big fat weddings.
This time Shobhita and Arjun’s titular wedding planning establishment has new entrants most notably in the form of Mona Singh’s character of the auditor who comes with no filter and puts things as they are without a grain of sugar coating.

Known for playing different kinds of roles in films such as ‘No One Killed Jessica’, ‘Shaitan’, ‘NH10’, ‘Ungli’ or recently in ‘Lost, actor Neil Bhoopalam believes in breaking the stereotypes and exploring distinct characters every time he takes up a new project.
As he mentioned: “There is a fair amount of mindfulness that one approaches work with. At the same time, work is work, so if I am fortunate enough to perform in stories where I get my creative kicks and that is a well-made project helmed by very creative people then it’s a win-win situation.”
In the movie, ‘Lost’, he was in a long-distance relationship with the lead actress Yami Gautam’s on-screen character Vidhi Sahani and the actor said that in today’s time because of technology such relationships are more practically possible and thus made the story of the film more relatable.

Just like her character Damini Roy from ‘Four More Shots Please!’, actress Sayani Gupta always speaks her mind. She agrees, though, that it can backfire sometimes. Sayani in a conversation said: “It always backfires but that’s not the point. You say something because it bothers you and you feel like you need to lend your voice to it.”
“You pick and choose your battles but you don’t shy away from speaking your mind for injustice so that is something I have lived by all my life,” she added.
Sayani agrees that she is under more scrutiny as she is an actor.

Mumbai, March 14 (Ians) Fashion designer Masaba Gupta, whose series "Masaba Masaba" would soon be out with its second season, said the concept of the show would not work on the big screen.
The Indian audience is still looking for a "larger-than-life" experience when they go to watch something in the theatre, she added.
"A show like ours will not work on the big screen. I think it suits Over-The-Top (Ott) perfectly and so do I. Fashion designer Masaba Gupta says she has two personalities, one where she is a social butterfly and the other when she is at ease with her mother, actress Neena Gupta.
"Masaba Gupta has two different personalities -- one in front of people, where I socialise, come across as hobnobbing, and am a social butterfly, and the other when I am at ease in my house or with my mom," Masaba said.
"I always try to maintain balance between my commercial and artistic life where I do absolutely nothing, and then I have a life full of drama, events, celebrating people and many other things. I have this Yogi life on the side. The title of the series 'Masaba Masaba' is because of my dual personality," she added.
The designer has opened up parts of her life for a fictionalised series "Masaba Masaba". In the Netflix show, Masaba and her mother Neena play their fictionalised versions.

Masaba Masaba (Netflix 6 episodes)
Starring Masaba Gupta, Neena Gupta
Directed by Sonam Nair
Promise not to take it too seriously, and Masaba Masaba, the 6-part Netflix series where Masaba and Neena Gupta play their real-life roles of daughter and mother, promises to be loads of fun.
Firstly the writing is clearly on a roll. The lines flow like champagne at one of those soirees that the characters in this series, all 237 of them, attend regularly. The people who populate Masaba’s elitish life are shamelessly uppercrust Bollywood with serious existential problems like, what do I wear for the evening’s party that I haven’t worn before?
Okay, for Masaba Gupta (played by Masaba Gupta) it gets a little more serious when her husband announces that he wants a divorce. All hell doesn’t break loose. There is so much storm before the calm in this series where everyone is running around going nowhere.

"The Raikar Case" is a whodunit that makes its intention rather clear with the very first scene. The young scion of a powerful clan is out to commit suicide diving off a cliff. The fall is captured with melodramatic relish, in slow motion as the camera augments the impact with a top angle shot.
This one, you get the feeling right at the onset, will very much be a 'desi' mystery - not too heavy, but loaded with the vintage played-to-gallery burst of emotions.
As the seven-episode storyline unfolds, you realise that the hunch is not altogether misplaced. Series director Aditya Sarpotdar and his team of writers have obviously made extra efforts to balance schmaltz with suspense. It is almost as if they wanted to make a family soap opera that, by the way, is highlighted by a mysterious death.

At the end of a life or a relationship, the objects we own may tell us a very interesting, even touching story of who we are and who we have been. In the study of language, we learn that attaching meaning to a word is mostly arbitrary as it happens within a distinct group of speakers sharing a certain nationality. This process is also defined by other characteristics such as the environment as well as the political system; however, pointing at an item and calling it “chair” or “table” remains arbitrary and random, even though we would never question the process in our everyday lives.
Nevertheless, there is another layer of meaning involved, which has to do with the personal value attached to items. In her book “Important Artifacts and Personal Property from the Collection of Lenore Doolan and Harold Morris, Including Books, Street Fashion and Jewelry” Canadian author and...

Actress Sayani Gupta is not a fan of the horror genre, and says it took a lot of convincing to get her to say 'yes' to supernatural thriller Darkness Visible.
Helmed by Neil Biswas, Darkness Visible is shot in Kolkata. Biswas has built the film from a script he co-wrote with Ben Hervey. Along with Sayani, the film stars Jaz Deol, Neil Bhoopalam, Seema Biswas and Sal?me Gunnarsdottir.
"It was actually quite fabulous collaborating with a great team. Neil Biswas has very clear directions. He knows exactly what he wants from you and the script was also very interesting. The song, which is part of a wedding scene in the film has a special performance by Akshay Oberoi and Amyra Dastur with Saif Ali Khan joining in with his funny moves.
At the end of the song, Saif was required to shoot a gun in the air. The team was using a real gun with dummy bullets. Saif Ali Khan’s upcoming thrilling dark comedy Kaalakaandi revolves around one night where the lives of different people come together. To make this seem even more real, Director Akshat Verma thought it would be best to shoot the film in real locations in and around the streets of Mumbai.
Saif Ali Khan said, “I think Mumbai is really cinematic, and Akshat has shown it wonderfully. Bandra particularly has a lot of character and personality. You feel it’s shot in a real place and you feel that instant connect to the place. Otherwise when you only shoot on set, and don’t really know where the film is. Having done a phenomenal job on the screenplay of Delhi Belly, Akshat Verma is gearing up for the release of his upcoming directorial venture Kaalakaandi.
The film comprises of an extremely talented bunch of actors including Saif Ali Khan, Kunaal Roy Kapur, Vijay Raaz, Deepak Dobriyal, Akshay Oberoi, Sobhita Dhulipala, Isha Talwar, Shenaz Treasury, Amyra Dastur and Neil Bhoopalam in a special appearance.
Working with an ensemble cast could be challenging, but Akshat did it with ease. In fact he had a great time bonding with all of them. “The most interesting thing about working with an ensemble cast is that every day is unpredictable because all these actors have a different way of working, a different way of approaching their scenes and also a different pace to how they come at it.”
“It serves to keep me on my toes in terms of how to configure my direction style to what they would bring.
