With a career spanning over 22 years in the Media & Entertainment Industry, Priti Shahani's vast experience in content, production, distribution, syndication and marketing has established her as a notable industry leader. She is also on the board of Producers Guild of India as Council of Management.
Her last role was with Asia's biggest media company, 'The Times of India' group, where she set up the motion pictures division "JUNGLEE PICTURES" in 2014. Under her leadership, this boutique content studio developed projects with an objective to create long-term revenue through intellectual properties (IP) and delivered critically acclaimed & commercially successful films like Badhaai Ho, Raazi, Bareilly Ki Barfi, Talvar & Junglee.
All the films produced by Junglee Pictures under her guidance have been nominated at various domestic & international films festivals, while Badhaai Ho & Talvar bagged multiple National Awards and Junglee won accolades on the global platform by winning the coveted "Best Action Film" & "Best Action Choreography" awards at the prestigious Jackie Chan International Action Film Week which was held in China, competing against 152 films from across 32 countries.
Prior to joining the Times of India group, Ms. Shahani was the Chief Strategy Officer at Reliance Entertainment - an Anil Dhirubhai Ambani company - where her responsibilities included leading projects from 'scripts-to-screen' and managing the overall slate strategy for the company. It was under her able guidance that the company achieved the first ever Rs. 100 Cr hat-trick (consecutive films crossing Rs. 100 Cr at the domestic box office) with films like Singham, Bodygaurd and Don 2, way back in 2011, a feat every studio aims to achieve in its lifetime.
Ms. Shahani was the founding member of 'The Indian Film Company' (TIFC) now known as 'Viacom 18 Motion Pictures' where she was responsible for the domestic business (acquisitions, marketing, distribution, and syndication). She was the brain behind marketing and distribution of the first Rs. 100 Cr film in today's time, 'Ghajini' which released in 2008.
Prior to this, Ms. Shahani headed the Marketing function at Sahara One Motion Pictures. This was company's foray into films and she was instrumental in creating the brand awareness of the organization.
In her career, Ms. Shahani has been instrumental in setting up many companies. She co-founded Hungama.com - a leading entertainment portal way back in 1999. It was one of the first few portals which has tested its waters and is active still.
Ms. Priti Shahani has worked on over 90 films with various actors and directors. She has been closely involved in all aspects of the film business-bringing the film alive from script to screen and marketing and exploiting its rights across various platforms.
An alumnus of HR College, Mumbai, Ms. Shahani is a voracious reader and loves traveling in her free time.
