- Before becoming a session musician and working on TV with Benny Hill and other television shows he was a member of the Morgan James Duo as vocalist/double bassist with another musician/vocalist, Colin James.
They were signed to Phillips Records in the UK and had a number of hit singles from 1963 to 1968 including "Sweet Pussycat" and "Put Your Tears Away". The three Albums they released include "At the Bar of Music" and "Two for the Road". They appeared on "The Rolf Harris Show", "Juke Box Jury" and "Thank Your Lucky Stars". They toured South Africa and the USA.
When they split up in 1969, he became a session musician. During the 1970s and 1980s he worked on many hit singles and albums and worked on TV. He also joined the Dudley Moore Trio and was a member of the Roy Budd Trio, both with Chris Karan.
