- J. McCoy seemed destined to be a performer, mimicking rap recordings while riding with his father back and forth to Los Angeles from Fresno. Born Joshua Michael Nahum McCoy, he started his career early with a lead role in PAX TV network commercials at only four years old. Enrolling in a Spanish-speaking program from Kindergarten through Fourth grade paid off for him.
McCoy then landed a lead role in the Tupac Shakur feat. Nas "Thugz Mansion" music video which he credits as inspiring him to follow his dream as a rapper. Always sharpening his skills, McCoy attends acting school and works with his acting coach Kevin McDermott weekly. He is also looking forward to the release of his first feature film, "Caught On Tape". His co-stars include Vivica A. Fox, Kirk "Sticky Fingaz" Jones and Cedric the Entertainer.
The Disney Channel tapped him to record the title track to their film "Jump In". The soundtrack has already earned a gold plaque and Josh hit the road for a Radio Disney summer tour in 2007. He attends Beverly Hills Middle School and enjoys writing rhymes, hanging with friends, and playing sports.
J. McCoy is putting the finishing touches on his debut album with the assistance of several multi-platinum producers (Trakstarz, Teak, Big John, Tank, Popo) who are committed to his project, providing tracks tailor made for him. The album also features guest appearance from E-40, Tank, Q, Mr. Fab, Ca$his, and Keak Da Sneak.- IMDb Mini Biography By: Keith Louis Brown
