But throwing caution to the winds, magician Adam Trent will help out a few friends on Thanksgiving night in his special The Magic Maker (airing 8-9 Pm Et/Pt Thursday on ABC). He’ll give them a few tricks that will help them in some of the biggest moments of their lives. In two such examples, a US Soldier returning from overseas will ‘magically’ appear for his family homecoming, while a nervous young man uses magic to propose to his girlfriend.

Trent is no mere children’s birthday party performer. He is the only Illusionist in history to have starred on Broadway three separate times, had his own Netflix series (The Road Trick) and does more than 200 live theater performances each year.

Magic is back on Broadway for the fourth holiday season, as the Vegas-style revue The Illusionists – Magic Of The Holidays returns for its annual razzle dazzle. Joining the five-magician touring show this time around is America’s Got Talent 2018 winner Shin Lim, whose close-up style remains a thing of elegant beauty whether or not you’ve already seen it on TV.

The limited engagement – playing at Broadway’s Marquis Theatre through Sunday, December 30 – is a new installment of the production, with returnee Adam Trent both performing and serving as emcee. Trent, who stars in his own Netflix series The Road Trick, is billed as “The Futurist,” a title that has nothing to do with predictions and everything to do with his very clever use of video projections: He seems to move in and out of the footage as if bringing the images to life.

Newly-minted “America’s Got Talent” winner Shin Lim will make his Broadway debut this November as part of the “The Illusionists” holiday-themed show, the group announced Thursday.

The 26-year-old magician will be featured in “The Illusionists — Magic of the Holidays,” which will have a run at New York City’s Marquis Theatre from Friday, Nov. 23 through Sunday, Dec. 30.

In addition to Lim, the line-up for the “The Grand Illusionist” Darcy Oake; “The Futurist” Adam Trent; “The Deductionist” Colin Cloud; “The Sorceress” Chloé Crawford; and another group of “America’s Got Talent” finalists, Light Balance.

“The Illusionists” is a touring magic show with a rotating line-up, featuring a mixture of illusions, close-up magic, mentalism, escape acts, and technological spectacle. Simon Painter serves as creative producer for the show, with Tim Lawson as executive producer and Neil Dorward directing.

It’s going to be a magical holiday season in New York — literally. Coming off their successful magic spectaculars Witness The Impossible, Live on Broadway and Turn of the Century, The Illusionists are set to bring their newest show Magic of the Holidays to Broadway’s Marquis Theatre in New York from Nov. 23 through Dec. 30.
