Welcome to this review of this past Monday’s episode of WWE Raw, right here on Nerdly… Let’s see what went down this week!
Match #1: Rhea Ripley vs. Mia Yim (No-Contest) The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
With both Superstars still battered and bruised from their explosives WarGames Match two days earlier at Survivor Series, Rhea Ripley of The Judgment Day and Mia Yim battled. Before a winner could be determined, however, interference from Dominik Mysterio drew the ire of Aj Styles and, with it, an early end to the match. Within moments, an all-out brawl between Judgment Day and The O.C. erupted and set the stage for an impromptu Eight-Person Tag Team Match between the factions to settle things once-and-for-all.
My Score: 3 out of 5 Match #2: The Judgment Day def. The O.C The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

Welcome to this review of 2022’s Survivor Series, which dumps the old format and introduces the main roster to WarGames! Yes, Triple H moves his love of WarGames from Nxt to Raw and Smackdown for this year’s pay-per-view! Let’s see what happened…
Match #1: Women’s WarGames Match – Bianca Belair, Alexa Bliss, Asuka, Mia Yim & Becky Lynch def. Bayley, Dakota Kai, Iyo Sky, Nikki Cross & Rhea Ripley The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
Raw Women’s Champion and team captain Bianca Belair started the match against WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Dakota Kai of Team Damage Ctrl. Kai, a veteran of WarGames Matches from her time in Nxt, used the structure to her advantage to gain the upper hand on Belair. Welcome to this review of WWE Crown Jewel 2022, right here on Nerdly… The first we’ve reviewed since 2019 – one because of the pandemic and the second because I’m still not sure about the WWE accepting money from such a problematic country. Anyway, let’s see what happened during this year’s show.
Match #1: Brock Lesnar def. Bobby Lashley The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
A rivalry stretching nearly 20 years, Brock Lesnar and Bobby Lashley went one-on-one for only the second time in their storied careers. The last time the two behemoths faced off in a singles bout, The All Mighty claimed Lesnar’s WWE Championship. Lashley took it to Lesnar early, sending The Beast Incarnate into the ring steps before the bell, leaving Lesnar with a tweaked knee. Lashley doubled down on his hot start, Spearing Lesnar into the barricade and following with another Spear in the ring for a close two-count.

Match #1: Bianca Belair def. Nikki Cross The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
After Nikki Cross caused Bianca Belair to lose to Bayley last week, The Est got a piece of the new and vicious Cross, who was more vindictive and unpredictable than ever. Bayley tried to get involved and send Belair to a second straight loss, shoving Belair into the post. The attempt backfired, however, as Cross pushed Bayley to the floor, taking out Dakota Kai and Iyo Sky as well. Cross’ banishment of Damage Ctrl led to Belair planting Cross with the K.O.D. for the win. Following the match, Damage Ctrl put the boots to Belair,...

Match #1: Finn Bálor def. Karl Anderson The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
During Finn Bálor’s matchup against Karl Anderson, Dominik Mysterio jumped on the apron to interfere and drew the ire of Aj Styles. This ignited all-out chaos outside the ring between The Judgment Day and The O.C., and Rhea Ripley hurled Luke Gallows into the ring post before delivering an earth-shattering body slam to him onto the ringside floor. Meanwhile, inside the ring, Anderson picked up Bálor to try to put him away. A distraction by Dominik, though, allowed Ripley to deliver the low blow to Anderson that helped Bálor to pick up the three-count.

Welcome to this week’s review of Nxt, which is continuing the road back to black and gold! With that in mind, let’s get into the review…
Match #1: Pick Your Poison Match – Rhea Ripley def. Roxanne Perez The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
The WWE Performance Center erupted with the emergence of The Judgment Day to open Nxt, but Roxanne Perez proved she was ready to meet the moment. After Cora Jade selected Rhea Ripley to face her Halloween Havoc foe, the odds appeared stacked against Perez but the tenacious Superstar made a statement with a flying splash to take out her opponent outside the ring. Despite the gritty effort, a distraction from Dominik Mysterio teed up a Riptide to give the former Nxt Women’s Champion the win.

Match #1: The O.C. def. Alpha Academy The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
After their triumphant return last week, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson had their first match back in WWE, facing off against The Alpha Academy. The biggest members of each team in Luke Gallows and Otis collided in the ring, registering high numbers on the Richter scale. Otis continued to play spoiler, stopping The O.C. from hitting the Magic Killer, which lead to a brilliant back-and-forth between Chad Gable and Anderson. Anderson got the upper hand in the exchange, enabling he and Gallows to hit the Magic Killer to seal the win.

King targets the now-injured left leg as he begins to wear Anderson down. Anderson creates separation with a Dragon Screw leg whip, then fights back with a series of clotheslines. WWE sacrificed 28 wrestlers and backstage talent on Wednesday all in the name of WWE’s stock.
That sounds crude, but it’s true.
WWE announced today that 28 individuals were fired. More full-time employees would be furloughed or laid off and construction on the company’s new headquarters has halted as well. The savings for WWE is about $4 million per month, they bragged in a press release.
That $4 million per month sounds like a lot … until you realize WWE has $90 million in cash on hand and has upwards of $500 million available if they maximized everything and extended all of their credit lines.
The cuts were, of course, blamed on coronavirus.
But make no mistake about it, these cuts were made for one reason and one reason only … to protect WWE’s stock price. The moves were made to protect profit margin. It affected a lot of lower-card talents, some of whom...

Wrestlemania is upon us today and the WWE loves to go all out with surprises for their audience. Last night at Nxt: Takeover Orlando for example, fans were shocked to see Drew McIntyre make his return to the WWE after a long stay at Impact Wrestling. Drew was the first member of the Impact Wrestling roster that left the company after Anthem purchased that company. Soon to follow were Matt and Jeff Hardy. The Hardy's made their way to Ring of Honor for what has ended up being a short stay. Last night at Supercard of Honor, the Hardy's faced off against The Young Bucks and lost the Ring of Honor Tag Team Championships to them in an amazing ladder match. People have speculated that the Hardy's stay in Ring of Honor would be a short one.
If the tweet above is to be believed, that appears to be the case.

WWE has a long standing tradition of not shaking things up too much right before Wrestlemania. With Smackdowns pay-per-view Elimination Chamber done two weeks ago the biggest change in that show was Cena losing the title to Bray Wyatt. Raw's final exclusive pay-per-view played out like everyone thought it would with only one title changing hands. When Stephanie McMahon and Triple H don't bother to show up on camera and leave Mick Foley in charge it shows that even the head brass didn't want to shake things up. Now for the next 29 days everything will be set for Wrestlemania with only a couple questions still to address.

Monday Night Raw is in the books for another week. Raw is building towards Fastlane, the last stop in the road before Wrestlemania. How did the show fare?
Roman Reigns faced off against Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson in a handicap match. You would think that the WWE Tag Team Champions would find a way to finish off Roman Reigns easily and in quick order yet they ended up winning the match by Dq after Roman took a chair from Luke Gallows and hit him with it. Why have Anderson and Gallows be your Tag Team Champions and yet go out of your way to make them look weak? I get that not everyone is going to win each and every week but you would think that during a handicap match of all things, the Tag Team Champs would find a way to easily handle one person. In my 25 years as a wrestling fan, Royal Rumble has always been one of my favourite annual events. The opportunity to see a bunch of your favourite WWE stars and the potential for surprises make it a night to keep an eye on. This year has some interesting matches, and the Rumble itself it set to be a star-studded affair featuring a handful of veteran names from the past, primarily Goldberg, Brock Lesnar and The Undertaker.

We are quickly approaching WWE Payback, and this week will be the “final sell” before the PPV. Let’s see what WWE can offer to get us to watch their annual May event.
Raw (25th April 2016) Results: Aj Styles pinned Sheamus Karl Anderson & Luke Gallows beat The Uso’s in their Raw debut Sami Zayn beat Rusev Apollo Crews defeated Stardust Natalya beat Emma Baron Corbin and Damien Sandow went to a no-contest Roman Reigns defeated Alberto Del Rio
After some solid shows recently, Raw seems to be in a transitional stage, like something bigger is planned and they are waiting it out. This episode of Raw wasn’t as solid in the ring compared to some recent episodes, and the promos didn’t really make any real explosions to sell Payback, but there is enough going on to make things interesting as we head into the PPV on Sunday.

Finn Balor has teased the Bullet Club will be renamed Bullet Proof in WWE.
“Bullet what?? Bulletproof#BulletproofBC,” he posted on Twitter alongside an image of what looked like the group logo. Interestingly, WWE’s official Twitter account rewteeted it.
Doc Gallows and Karl Anderson are done with New Japan Pro Wrestling, and the belief is that they’ll be in WWE Nxt very soon. Balor has continually pushed the idea on his Twitter that he’ll be forming a variation of the Bullet Club with the duo. It had originally been thought that this would be named Balor Club, but the latest tweets and WWE’s Rt endorsement seems to suggest the Bullet Proof name is happening.
The advantages of this, is when Balor goes up to Raw, Gallows and Anderson can continue as Bullet Proof in Nxt. If they’d had the Balor Club name, it...

Roh
Just a few hours before many expect to see him make a surprise appearance at the WWE Royal Rumble in Orlando, Aj Styles made his final appearance for Ring of Honor Wrestling in Augusta, Georgia on Saturday evening.
Styles did not wrestle at the event, instead coming out to make a farewell to his Roh fans prior to his embarking on a run with WWE.

Styles has spent the last couple of years as one of the biggest names on the global wrestling scene, outside of WWE. Following his departure from Tna in 2013, he became the Iwgp Heavyweight Champion with New Japan Pro Wrestling while also pulling double duty wrestling for Ring Of Honor back in the United States.

Tna
It’s all just got very ugly between Tna, Aj Styles and WWE.
According to a statement just released on the Total Impact website, Aj Styles – the man they openly state helped launch the brand – reneged on a deal to sign with Tna that was agreed upon in mid-December.
The no frills statement says there were serious discussions at Dixie Carter’s home to bring Styles to Tna, along with Doc Gallows (a/k/a Drew Hankinson), and Karl Anderson (a/k/a Chad Allegra). Hands were shaken, “start dates were determined, creative decided, merchandise designed and plane tickets purchased.”
And then, mysteriously over Christmas the conversation went quiet, despite the lawyers legalising the long form agreement, and Aj Styles’ camp apparently just stopped answering Tna’s calls. In short they changed their mind and told Tna they would no longer be taking them up on the offer, with...

Following this week’s shocking news that some of the biggest names in New Japan Pro Wrestling (Shinsuke Nakamura, Aj Styles, Karl Anderson, Doc Gallows) are heading to WWE, it appears that the raiding of the Japanese organization by WWE might not yet be over.
The latest name WWE is reported to be interested in is Rocky Romero.
Romero is a former Iwgp Jr. Heavyweight Champion in Njpw, alongside Trent Beretta as the team Roppongi Vice. Romero competed Monday at Wrestle Kingdom 10 in a four-way tag team match for the Jr. Heavyweight tag straps, a match won by The Young Bucks. According to the Wrestling Observer, WWE is interested in Romero for a training position at the WWE Performance Center.
Romero (33) is fairly young to stop wrestling and convert into a full-time trainer, but he has also recently served in a guest training role at the WWE’s Performance Center in Florida.
