The Carter family has been struck by yet another loss with the sudden and untimely death of Bobbie Jean Carter in Florida. As the sister of Aaron and Nick Carter, her death marks the third loss for the family.
The family has already endured the loss of Aaron, who tragically died last year at the age of 34 from an accidental drowning caused by the effects of alprazolam, a generic form of Xanax, and inhaling compressed air.
Additionally, Bobbie Jean’s sister, Leslie, passed away in 2012 from an apparent overdose at the age of 25.
Carter worked as a wardrobe stylist and makeup artist for Aaron’s tours in the early 2000s. She also appeared on the family’s reality series House of Carters, which aired in 2006. While she battled addiction and substance abuse, Carter mostly lived her life away from the spotlight. She leaves behind her daughter, Bella.

A year after his death on November 5, 2022, Melanie Martin, the former fiancée of late singer and rapper, Aaron Carter, filed a lawsuit on behalf of their son, Prince Carter, against the doctors and pharmacies who prescribed and provided him addictive medications. The late singer’s fiancée blamed them for his untimely death.
Martin’s lawsuit claimed that Aaron’s doctors had prescribed him three drugs – hydrocodone, oxycodone and alprazolam – without any medical justification.
The lawsuit asserts that the doctors and pharmacies knew about the singer’s mental health and psychiatric problems.
It charges that these medical professionals prescribed him inconsistent quantities of his medication that were a direct contribution to his death.
On October 27, Angel Carter, Aaron’s twin sister, posted an image of the golden plaque commemorating her brother on Instagram. The plaque showed when he was born and when he died. It also read “Beloved Brother, Son, Friend & Father of Prince Carter.

Bobbie Jean Carter, 41, the sister of singers Aaron and Nick Carter, has been arrested in Florida for shoplifting and possession of fentanyl.
She was detained over the weekend after Hobby Lobby employees called the cops on her. The 41-year-old stole an estimated $55 worth of products from the arts and crafts store.
When the officers questioned her actions, the former waitress panicked and threw a container filled with white and purple powder under a desk. The powder was later tested and was discovered to be fentanyl.
As she was being taken away, Bobbie Jean was heard muttering, “I’m just going to have to kill myself.” She was then placed under suicide watch.
She is in jail and is being held on a $500 bond.

As part of May’s Mental Health Awareness Month, Angel Carter spoke about how the death of her twin brother, singer Aaron Carter, who had suffered from addiction and mental health issues, convinced her to support the children’s mental health organization On Our Sleeves.
In January, Angel held the Songs For Tomorrow Benefit Concert with its proceeds going to On Our Sleeves. Angel hoped the concert would start a conversation.
“It really starts with children,” she said. “It starts with creating a safe space for your children.” Angel said that the nonprofit provides “free expert resources for parents” to address their child’s mental health challenges. They are also coming out with “teacher kits” that allow time for kids to talk about mental health at school.
