Thomas Doyle Piwnicki, a native of Chicago, grew up with an almost
constant barrage of movies. Each day, he would spend hours locked in
his room, watching the likes of Star Wars and Superman. On the rare
occasion that the young lad was allowed outside, he wanted nothing more
than to play with the family's Super 8.
Thus entered Columbia College, Chicago. It was here that Tom found what he truly loved to do. Partnering up with the a small collection of his fellow film students, the most notable of which, Joe Elsey, the band of moviemakers saw their futures. They sought to make movies that's primary goal was entertainment.
While often outspoken in his opinions, Tom has emerged from College a strong leader, co-directing the first chapter of an ongoing series, Stay Dead. Along with producing uPressplay's soon to be released Palooka.
Since college, Tom and Joe have joined with uPressplay Online Entertainment. Promoting both their work and the work of others in the hopes of gathering those with like minds under the banner of DIY (Do It Yourself) filmmaking. When you've got no money, and no connections, sometimes you've just got to go out there and do it yourself.
Currently developing a musical comedy, The Road to Rockford.
