Actor Vidyut Jammwal has shared a video poem dedicating it to the victory of Team India in Sunday’s Asia Cup match against Pakistan in which Hardik Pandya hit three boundaries and a six in the last two overs at Dubai International Stadium.

Khuda Haafiz Chapter 2: Agni Pariksha
Starring Vidyut Jammwal and Shivaleeka Oberoi
Written & Directed by Faruk Kabir
Reading some of the arrogantly dismissive reviews of this slick spin on the vendetta genre, I was convinced, more than ever, that nowadays the selfcrowned critics of filmistan review the directors and actors , and not the end-product.
Faruk Kabir’s Khuda Haafiz in 2020 was an extremely mundane fare, at best a timepasser during a desperate lockdown evening.
The second chapter in the Khuda Haafiz series is a far more laudable endeavour. It is a tautly told tightly edited(Sandeep Francis) thriller about child rape. Writer-director Faruk Kabir grinds his boots into the vile act with a persuasive force. The action is never gratuitous, but extremely wrathful and brutal.
There is a moment when the protagonist Sameer(Jammwal) gets to know the 12-13 year old boy standing sobbing in from of him had raped his 5-year old daughter.

Mumbai, Sep 7 (Ians) Filmmaker Faruk Kabir feels a lot changed after the decriminalisation of homosexuality by Supreme Court two years ago, on September 6 in 2018.
"I was very inspired that an entire law had been abolished in the country. It also drew my curiosity as to how the law got abolished and who were the people who were involved in protesting against it. There were so many petitioners who fought for about 17 years to get rid of Section 377. I have a lot of friends from the LGBTQ community and they feel more confident and comfortable about their orientation now. There's more acceptance," said Faruk, who was recently in the news directing the digitally-released Vidyut Jammwal romantic action drama, "Khuda Haafiz",
Faruk's focus on Section 377 happens at this point because September 6 marked two years of the historic Supreme Court judgement that decriminalised consensual same sex relations. The filmmaker had explored the subject in his 2019 film,...

Khuda Hafiz (Disney-Hotstar)
Starring Vidyut Jammwal, Shivaleeka Oberoi, Annu Kapoor, Aahana Kumra and Shiv Panditt
Directed by Faruk Kabir
How much worse can the Ott-sponsored feature-film premieres get? If this is the third-degree torture we deserve during lockdown than God save civilization. Cinema, of course, is already doomed because everything and anything is now served up as a feature film. Khuda Hafiz has the seeds of a solid thriller planted at its epicenter: a husband enters a bloodied Muslim country in search of his missing wife.
In this case the country is a fictional device named Noman echoing Oman and No Man’s land, it is just about the most inventive factor you will encounter in this action-packed nonsense. Well intended, no doubt. But crafted with all the delicacy of a sledgehammer falling on a nail.
Very often, the background score is so loud it drowns out the dialogues. Not that they are worth hearing.

Finally, the closely guarded secret is out. For all those who thought that the dashingly filmmaker Faruk Kabir (of Allah Ke Banday fame) is single and available. But the news is that, this dude is not single and that he had a secret marriage with actress Rukhsar. This is a confession that Faruk did on one of his social network accounts. Rukhsar made her silver screen debut with Yaad Rakhegi Duniya (opposite Aditya Panscholi). She was however recently noticed when she featured in films like Sarkar, Knock Out and Allah Ke Banday. Faruk and Rukhsar were in a relationship for six long years before they tied the knot last year. And when it comes to the couple, it's nothing less than a mutual admiration society. While he is damn proud and impressed by the way she gathered herself after her bad marriage and started leading life afresh, Rukhsar is all...

A feeling of foreboding and damnation builds up in the narration from the first frame itself. Here's a gloriously gutsy film exploring the underbelly of Mumbai through the lives of two slumkids who grow up in identical circumstances but with somewhat disparate values.
First-time director Faruk Kabir displays remarkable skill in creating a pastiche of mammoth crime and little punishment. The pace leaves meager space for grace. And yet Allah Ke Banday creates a world filled with acute aggression repression and damnation with a reasonable amount of paciness to the edgy narrative.
The world that Faruk Kabir's characters inhabit is reminiscent of Danny Boyle's Slumdog Millionaire, Irrfan Kamal's underrated Thanks, Maa, Mahesh Manjrekar's City Of Gold and Chandan Arora's Striker. Deriving its lingering study of juvenile delinquency from these sources Allah Ke Banday moves forward and acquires a life of its own.

However, in case Allah Ke Banday, it was just the reverse for first director-actor Faruk Kabir who managed to rope in Naseeruddin Shah in a key role without much ado. "I know it would be hard to believe for many out there but Naseer saab was the earliest and the quickest choice for Allah Ke Banday," inf...

Debutante director Faruk Kabir won't release his film Allah Ke Banday with Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Guzaarish. He would rather wait one more week. With the censor board clamping down on four different sequences of violence, drinking and cocaine-sniffing, director-actor Faruk Kabir's Allah Ke Banday won't make it to the theatres before 26 November. Harried and anxious, Faruk says, "We thought we'd incorporate the changes in a few days and send off our overseas prints in time for Bakri Eid release on November 18, a Thursday. But now it seems we won't be able to release before November 26. Fortunately, I've a very supporting producer and Naseer saab is also with me." The thought of releasing with Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Guzaarish on November 19 gave Faruk the heebie-jeebies. "I am too much in awe of Mr. Bhansali to release with him. New Delhi, Nov 7 – His debut movie, ‘Allah Ke Banday’, is drawing comparisons with multiple-Oscar winning drama ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ as both explore juvenile crime and Mumbai’s dark underbelly. Director Faruk Kabir takes it as a compliment and claims his film is much more ‘hardcore’.
‘ ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ is a fabulous film. Luckily for me, I had already written and casted for my film before that came in the open. If there is a comparison being drawn with it, I take no offence to it,’ Kabir told Ians in a telephonic interview from Mumbai.

With Allah Ke Banday, director Faruk Kabir has sought to keep things as realistic as possible by portraying actual parts of the city and not recreating them on a set. However, that doesn’t mean he is willing to compromise on style. To increase the “style quotient”, Kabir has shot the title song Maula employing 2D graphic novel-type animation techniques. He believes this will “render the film more stylish even at the risk of seeming in stark contrast to the rest of the trailer.” He says, “It’s appropriate so long as the sequence blends in visually with the rest of the film.”2D animationThe ...
