After a long and successful career as a studio executive, Steve Bersch departed Sony Pictures Entertainment after a 16-year tenure there and established Bersch Entertainment in December 2023. During a career that spanned five studios, Steve has successfully navigated both the business and creative aspects of the motion picture business, most recently building Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions (including AFFIRM Films) into a consistent and significant source of product and profit for Sony Pictures Entertainment and then adding Screen Gems to his responsibilities in 2019. While at Sony, the acquisitions and productions overseen by Steve (either on a worldwide or selected territory basis) covered the full range of products, from Academy Award-nominated pictures such as "Arrival," "Spotlight," and "Whiplash," inspirational family films such as "Soul Surfer," Tom Hanks dramas "Greyhound" and "A Man Called Otto," to breakout box-office successes like "Searching" and classic horror movies such as the "Insidious" and "Don't Breathe" franchises. Mr. Bersch is a Member of the Executive Committee of the Executive Branch of the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences (1998-Present.)
