- Guia Peel is a Filipino-American actor. An Interior Designer who used to juggle jobs to make a living at a small architectural firm, and as a draftswoman for an entrepreneur Architect/Engineer, as well as a freelance artist. She also trained at a modeling school, occasionally finding work as a model. In 2006 she began fulfilling a dream of becoming an actor by attending acting classes at the University of New Mexico (UNM), then expanding to workshops from professional actors/casting directors from Los Angeles, New York, and Canada.
Guia was challenged during her training, upon hearing she would never get any roles because of her accent. This is her big motivation and as an inspiration. She worked on improving her English and her persistence landed a role in 2010. By 2013, Guia wrote and directed several short films, establishing her reputation as a film maker of many talents. She was then hired to direct an independent full feature film . She has appeared in numerous independent films and when she began writing screenplays. Her first one was "Grass Over the Fence", submitted to the Houston Comedy Film Festival and was quickly recognized as a standout in the festival. She continued writing/ directing and expanded to commercials which were submitted for several competitions. She completed writing three horror creations "Zombiequerque, Cara's Curse & Red Nail Polish".
Life is funny, after working so hard to lose her accent she had to work to gain it back, wanting to broaden her action chops. In 2015 she was cast as one of the lead role on the pilot TV show "Almost Americans". A variety of roles in feature films becomes a chain of diverse characters. In a fantasy "I Am That" where she portrays the mother of a runaway nun; a multi award winning feature film. Then played a mother and aunt to two MMA fighters in an action film shown in Cannes Film Festival "Crossed Lines". Both of these features required different cultural accents. These were quickly followed to a comedy scene opposite Justin Long in "The Wave.
