As a child, I was a little PBS goon. Sure, sure – there was Sesame Street (frankly Mr. Shankly, I was way more into the Electric Company - but that might have been because of its high Fast Black quotient), but there was also Dave Allen at Large, Monty Python, and the kind of Doctor Who no one seems to be into nowadays – where the Doctor was a sort of snide know-it-all instead of a weird/skinny ponce. And still there was Cosmos and Nova. I never understood the bulk of what was being explained, but my child mind found its love of space, science, invention, and history watching those programs.
