- Valerie Visconti began her career in video production in 2000, as an intern for ABC Eyewitness News. She spent over 10 years in various positions at Learning Matters TV, a Peabody award-winning and Emmy-nominated non-profit company that produced reports on education for PBS. At Learning Matters, now known as Education Week Video, she produced, directed, and wrote short-form segments for PBS NewsHour.
Valerie won first prize in the television and documentary feature category at the National Awards for Education Reporting and a CINE Golden Eagle Award for a 12-part PBS NewsHour series she produced chronicling Paul Vallas, the "turnaround" superintendent charged with fixing a deeply troubled and failing Recovery School District in New Orleans. With unparalleled access, the series followed Vallas and the district's principals, teachers, and students over the course of 3 years after Hurricane Katrina. The series was turned into a documentary, Rebirth: New Orleans, previously available on Netflix.
Valerie was also an associate producer on First to Worst, a PBS documentary that explored the rise and fall of California's education system. The documentary won a CINE Golden Eagle Award and a Silver Hugo at the Chicago International Television Awards. Other notable accomplishments include a web series she field produced, The Real World of Teach for America, which followed first year recruits in New Orleans' most challenging classrooms.
Since 2010, Valerie has shifted her focus to branded content. She has managed, produced, directed, and/or scripted videos for primarily Fortune 500 companies and corporate clients in various industries. For almost a decade, Valerie was the Senior Producer at Ironbound Films, an Emmy-nominated documentary and digital video production company. Her work at Ironbound included Global Problem Solvers, an animated series that follows the adventures of teenage superheroes who use innovation to solve crises around the world.
In 2019, Valerie became the Senior Producer of Fly on the Wall Productions, a video production company specializing in feature videos, multimedia projects, and documentaries. One of her greatest accomplishments was managing production and post production of 90 videos within a five-month period for The Mount Sinai Health System during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Since 2023, Valerie joined Indigo Productions as their Head of Production. Indigo is a world renowned video production company that produces compelling visuals for corporate, commercial and entertainment clients.
