- With husband Carl Hyland, had twins born through surrogacy, born May 22, 2017, daughter Phoebe Hyland-Richardson and son Chase Hyland-Richardson. In the build up to their children's birth, Kieron was the subject and star of a video about their experience being expectant fathers, and Kieron meeting other gay parents, including a gay male couple who went through surrogacy, a lesbian couple who adopted three brothers simultaneously, and an older gay man who had his children when he was married to a woman before coming out, and his experiences dealing with his former wife and in-laws, and the relationship that he developed with his children over time. The culmination of the video shows the birth of their children, with them in the birthing room, and shows the names of the children and the date of their birth on their hospital wrist bands, followed by a brief scene at home about one month after the birth. The video was produced by the UK's Channel 4, the same network which produces Kieron's long running television series, the teen soap, Hollyoaks (1995). - Kieron and Carl and their twins live in a single family home that they bought about one year before their children were born, and is located in the Greater Manchester, England, UK area, which is the same area which Kieron was born and raised.
- When Kieron began his run on "Hollyoaks" (a UK Channel 4 teen soap) in 2006, he was 20, and he is still one of the lead actors on the soap as of 2021, fifteen years later, at age 35.
