Erdal Güney was born May 1, 1970 in Anamur, Mersin, Turkey. He was the first child of Zerrin and Ekrem Nuhut. Having grown watching his father, who is a folk poet and baglama player, Güney's tendency to music started at his early ages. He graduated from The School of Economics, Istanbul University, where he realized that he was to continue his life as a musician. He took musical education from musicians Tahsin Incirci, Elmira Asrafov, Jerair Arslanyan, Kemal Kaplan and Ferhat Livaneli.
Between 1993 and 2003, he continued his musical career as music master in several regions of Germany, France and Turkey.
In 1996, he released his first solo album, "Güney Türküleri". In 2005, he made his first role as a composer to the TV serial "Ilk Göz Agrisi", which opens the doors of the professional area of soundtracks for him.
Today, he is a professional composer living in Istanbul, Turkey. He makes music for movies and TV series, and prepares his new album, which is expected to be released by the end of 2017. In addition, he lectures the Film Müzigi (Film Soundtrack) couse in the Faculty of Fine Arts, Marmara University.
