- Jeff's father Johnny Amberg played as a defensive corner-back and fullback for the 1951-1953 New York Giants football team. His teammates were Tom Landry(the legendary Dallas Cowboys coach of the 1970's and 1980's), Emlen Tunnell, Charley Conerly and Frank Gifford.
- Jeff's grandfather, Maurice Lannon, started a plastics business named Gem-O-lite Plastics(founded in 1941 in North Hollywood, California). The company was a very well known plastics supplier to most of the studios and art departments associated with Hollywood's movie industry from the 1940's until mid the 1990's.
- Jeff's mother, Maureen(Lannon)Amberg attended North Hollywood High School with the movie score composer John Williams(his nickname was "Curly"). Jeff's mother lived next to Martin Milner of Adam 12. She was friends with Debbie Reynolds and was a babysitter to Tina Sinatra.
- Jeff auditioned for the part of "Bud, the beer tap repairman" for the final episode of Cheers(it went to Tom Berenger).
- Jeff is "Bernie" in the movie poster for "Weekend at Bernies 2".
- Jeff played the part of an Extra in the movie "Get Shorty" (1995) and ate lunch with Rene Russo, who commented "I like your puffy shirt". He wore a Revolutionary War uniform while playing the part of an Extra in the "Studio scene".
- Jeff can be seen warming up as stand-up comedian behind Bea Arthur in "Comedy of Errors"; Season 5, Episode 9 of "The Golden Girls".
