Mumbai, March 29 (Ians) US-based Indian actress Freida Pinto is all set to visit to Mumbai after a gap of three years.
She will be seen making a whirlwind visit to Mumbai to attend Christian Dior’s special fashion showcase on Thursday.
The actress has been specially invited to attend and be part of the special show dedicated to India.
Freida, who has been amidst prep for her upcoming projects, will be taking a few days off to be part of this special celebration.
Talking about her India visit, Freida says: “I’m coming back home to Mumbai after almost 3 years and I’m so excited that this trip is also going to be a meaningful one with Dior. When fashion brands use their platform to highlight the incredible contribution from other cultures and in this case my own, my Indian culture, it’s an association I cannot afford to not get behind.

The Fame Game(Netflix, 8 Episodes)
Starring Madhuri Dixit, Sanjay Kapoor, Manav Kaul, Rajshri Deshpande
Directed by Bejoy Nambiar
Rarely do all the components of a webseries, creative and otherwise, come together as fluently as they do in The Fame Game, earlier title more appropriately as Finding Anamika. This Is a series about searching for the superstar Anamika Anand played by superstar Madhuri Dixit, the last of the iconic Bollywood actresses who emerges from her cocoon of self-exile with a performance suffused with subtle flourishes which tell us why she is Madhuri Dixit.
Call her by any another name, Anamika Anand will do. She is still that consummate superstar with that enigmatic smile which tells us everything and gives away nothing.
The other star of this intriguing often enchanting thriller is Sri Rao’s writing. Across the 8 episodes Rao leaves not a single loose end for us to mourn and carp...

Madhuri Dixit is ready to step into the spotlight again with her new thriller, The Fame Game. Releasing exclusively on Netflix, this is the actress’s first step into a series on the streaming platform.
Describing The Fame Game, Madhuri Dixit earlier said, “It is a mystery, but it is also about relationships, family, how fame can twist and make the best of things look bad.”
The Fame Game (formerly known as Finding Anamika) will take us into the world of superstar Anamika Anand. It seems she has it all but is her life perfect or a perfectly crafted facade? In a world of glitz, glamour, and fame – the lines of what is real and what is not can often be blurred.
The family drama also stars Sanjay Kapoor, Manav Kaul, Lakshvir Saran, Suhasini Muley, Muskkaan Jaferi. Produced by Dharmatic Entertainment, the show brings together Sri Rao as the showrunner...

I awaited the arrival of my review copy of Bollywood Kitchen with a wee bit of trepidation: my experience has been that many books like this end up frothy and insubstantial, good to flip through for a bit of a lark, and then relegated to a bookshelf to languish.
I was absolutely delighted, however, when the book arrived and totally tore down all my preconceived notions about what it would be like. Its author, Sri Rao, is a Pennsylvania-born “filmmaker, author and lifestyle expert”, and he brings his experience as a writer and producer to the creation of Bollywood Kitchen.
Sri Rao sees himself as someone who bridges cultures, and I feel that is reflected in his book. The recipes are designed to reflect Indian home-cooking, inspired by Rao’s mother’s recipes, but they also recognize the kinds of adaptations needed when ingredients were less widely available then they are today.

NBC has inked a deal with Ben Silverman’s Iac-owned company Electus to develop three telenovelas with an eye toward airing one as a 13-episode series — with multiple episodes running each week, following telenovelas’ traditional air pattern. That would mark a rare stripped primetime run for an original scripted series on a U.S. English-language network. “We believe there is huge potential for telenovelas to be adapted and developed for American viewers,” said NBC Entertainment president Jennifer Salke. “These stories clearly have resonance across all cultures and nationalities.” NBC and Electus have identified the first project to be developed under the pact, The Black Widow, from writer Sri Rao (General Hospital: Night Shift). It is an adaptation of the hit Venezuelan telenovela La Viuda Joven, which premiered in 2011 and aired 142 episodes around the world. (See the Spanish-language trailer below.) Neighbours
As I said last week, I’m really enjoying Neighbours these days. The fallout from the accident has continued to make for interesting soap. Now, I don’t know anything about epilepsy or its symptoms, so I can’t say if the show is being medically accurate about Andrew’s illness, but it’s dramatically compelling to watch.
I see a lot of comments about Andrew being ‘stupid’ for not taking Aidan’s advice and telling people about his situation, but his behavior makes perfect sense to me. Andrew has always been one to avoid problems. His father is repeatedly telling him he needs to be tough and he can’t even talk to Chris and his friends because they won’t have anything to do with him following the accident. Risking his health might be stupid, but it’s realistic.
What isn’t so realistic,...

In what could turn out to be amazing news, new episodes of the classic Iron Chef will air in Japan starting in October. If it gets dubbed in English like the original run, I will be ecstatic.
Saturday Night Live is adding three new cast members, including two Second City alums.
How does the cast of MTV's The Inbetweeners deal with internet trolls? This is almost as good as that Kidz Bop twitter account.
In case you need to get caught up, Netflix now has the first seasons of Revenge,...
(Don't mistake that for complaining. I am so not complaining.)

Exclusive: Producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron have set up the first project through the first-look deal they signed with Universal TV and NBCUni’s international TV production division in July. NBC has bought an hourlong drama from the duo and former General Hospital head writer Sri Rao. Tentatively titled White House Confidential, the project is described as an upstairs-downstairs-type soap set in the White House, told from the point of view of a young female doctor who has a secret from her past. It’s been a busy last two months for Zadan and Meron, who inked the NBCUni deal for series and specials, signed on to produce a live Sound Of Music TV special for NBC, and renewed their long-form deal at Sony TV, putting several more TV movies in the works including biopics of Anna Nicole Smith and Warren Jeffs at Lifetime and a Bonnie & Clyde miniseries at History.

of The Fabulous Beekman Boys
A gay couple buying a place in the country isn’t exactly newsworthy, especially when they are buying a beautiful old house that only a gay couple could truly appreciate. But when one half of the gay couple is a former New York drag queen and the other is a former Martha Stewart Vice President, and what they have bought is an entirely defunct farm they plan on turning into a working organic farm, then you not only have a story, but if you are Planet Green, you have your next television show.
That’s the case with The Fabulous Beekman Boys debuting tonight at 9 Pm on Planet Green. This new docu-series follows the trials and travails of partners Josh Kilmer-Purcell and Brent Ridge as they go about creating “Beekman 1802,” their organic lifestyle brand which involves lots and lots of goat’s milk.

Chatting With … Sri Rao
I recently had the pleasure of interviewing Sri Rao, the former head writer of last year’s best soap opera on either daytime or nighttime television, General Hospital: Night Shift. In addition to discussing his work on that gay-inclusive, critically acclaimed show, Rao also shared his thoughts on the depiction of gay characters in the genre, who should write gay characters, how As the World Turns handled the Luke and Noah storyline, as well as news about a new project very close to his heart.
[While very interesting and worthwhile, this interview is five pages long. To skip directly to this week's In My Humble Opinion, Gool Newsbeat and Scoops And Spoilers click here.]

AfterElton.com: You were the head writer for General Hospital: Night Shift. Had you written for soaps before that?
Sri Rao: No, this was my first foray into the soap opera genre. I had been watching General Hospital for my entire life. I’m a long-time fan of the show so I was very familiar with it.

SoapNet has renewed its original drama "General Hospital: Night Shift", a spinoff of corporate sibling ABC's soap "General Hospital", for a second season.
The series will have a new head writer, Sri Rao (the N's "What Goes On"), and executive producer, Lisa De Cazotte (NBC's "Passions"), for its 13-episode sophomore run. They replace Jill Farren Phelps and Bob Guza Jr., who will continue their duties at "GH" as exec producer and head writer, respectively. SoapNet said their schedules could not accommodate both productions.
Season 2 of "Night Shift" will be shot in high definition. Production begins in June, with the series returning in July and airing at 11 p.m. Tuesdays. SoapNet said the second season will feature new and returning characters as well as the return of "legacy" characters from "GH." In addition, the continuity between story lines on "Night Shift" and "GH" will match.
"Night Shift" is SoapNet's most-watched series ever, and Disney ABC Television Group daytime president Brian Frons noted that the first season of the show drew more than 1 million new viewers to the channel during its run in the summer.
