Craig McMahon, writer/director of 2006’s MacHined, got in touch with a bit of info and some exclusive images from his latest fright feature, The Crypt. “We shot the film in Arizona,” McMahon tells Fango, “all in sets built over a three-month period, with parts filmed in an underwater tank.”
McMahon (pictured in first photo with associate producer Nathan Hill) also served as cinematographer and editor on the movie, and says, “I shot it with heavy influences of very early horror of the 1930s and ’40s. The story centers on these criminals who break into crypts looking for jewelry hidden during the Great Depression, and run into creatures from the era that won’t allow anyone to take from them. For the most part, the cast is made up of new talent, but we do have ‘The Wolf’ [a.k.a. Hollywood Yates] from NBC’s American Gladiators and Michael Ranallo from Fox’s Hotel Paradise.
