An award-winning writer for TV, film, audio and stage. Alex has achieved success with several short films - 'The Reason I Shop Online' won an audience award, 'Next Stop LA' was a finalist, 'The Art of Travel' and 'ZX' were screened at Birmingham Film Festival. She's also achieved success with two feature scripts - 'The Delivery of Doctor Darius' and 'Daniel's Party' both came third in the Euroscript Screen Story competition in successive years. Alex is a core member of Birmingham-based writing collective Script Sirens, contributing to web series 'Going Viral', audio anthology 'Siren Screams', and 'SPECTRUM', an anthology of eight animated shorts which she co-produced with Annabel Brightling. Stage work has included short plays performed at Oldham Coliseum Theatre, Birmingham REP, Birmingham Comedy Festival, the Mockingbird and the Lighthorne Festival. In collaboration with composer Michael Wolters, she wrote the libretto for full-length opera 'Ava's Wedding', which was staged by Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. Her strength is in creating quirky characters with distinctive voices in everyday situations, often with an absurd or surreal twist.
