Tastemade is going home for the holidays. The content publisher, which began a decade ago as a cooking hub, will launch shows about interior decoration and real estate on Tastemade Home, a new streaming channel. In addition, the lifestyle brand has named Evan Bregman as its General Manager of Streaming.
Tastemade Home, like the company’s other channels, will be available through streaming platforms like Amazon Freevee, Tubi, and Sling TV. Though Tastemade broke out on YouTube, it has recently found success on TV screens.
According to a press release, Tastemade Home will be a “natural extension” of the company’s social channels, where homey content has become common. Some of the shows coming to the new streaming channel — such as Tia Mowry‘s Weekend Refresh — began on platforms like Instagram and YouTube.

Apple TV+ revealed the official trailer today for Season 2 of “Slow Horses,” the Gary Oldman thriller series that follows a team of British intelligence agents. The second season premieres globally on the streaming service Dec. 2 with the first two episodes, followed by one new episode each week after that for the duration of the six-episode season.
And if there’s any confirmation of what fans can anticipate from Season 2, it’s that “more people are going to die,” according to a voice-over in the trailer from returning star Jack Lowden.
In the new season of “Slow Horses” (which is adapted from Mick Herron’s sequel novel “Dead Lion”), when exposure of previously-concealed Cold War secrets creates tension between Russia and Britain, the spies are again tasked with protecting society from inevitable catastrophe. Stars from Season 1 have returned for the production of the upcoming release, including Academy-Award winner Oldman as Jackson Lamb,...

Portal A just added an experienced decision maker to its executive team. The San Francisco studio has hired Evan Bregman, formerly of Electus, as its Head of Original Content. During his time at Electus, Bregman served as the Executive Director of Digital Media. In that role, he oversaw the creation and distribution of original programs across channels like Hungry and Loud (now known as WatchLOUD). Among the most significant series released under his watch were Total Slaughter and Detroit Rubber, a pair of collaborations with Eminem's Shady Films production company. At Portal A, Bregman will be tasked with the production of original series for both digital and traditional media platforms. Portal A works with a number of different brands and distributors, but its most viewed efforts have been created through its ongoing partnership with YouTube. It helmed the most recent YouTube Rewind video, which has scored more than 100 million views to date.

Social Media Week Los Angeles wrapped up on Saturday, but there are still plenty of highlights from last week's event floating around on the Internet. One of the most worthwhile live streams is Thursday's conversation between Electus's founder, Ben Silverman, and its Director of Digital Media, Evan Bregman. Silverman is best known for his work as an executive producer at NBC, where he helped bring shows like The Office, Ugly Betty, and The Biggest Loser. His conversation with Bregman begins with The Office, where revolutionized TV comedy (think about how many shows had a laugh track before it vs. after it.) From there, Silverman discusses the similar task he is attempting on the web: How can an online media company take a young, evolving format and change it to create the most desirable product possible

Traditional media and online media are oil and water: the former tends toward longer content, the latter toward short; the former follows strict guidelines, the latter almost none; the former is limited to a certain number of channel, while the latter is limitless; and so on. Ben Silverman, the founder of Electus, has experience with both traditional and new media, and at Social Media Week Los Angeles, he will impart his knowledge to the audience. He will discuss his varied credits during a discussion with fellow Electus exec Evan Bregman. Before founding Electus, Silverman was one of the biggest big shots in the TV world. Thanks in part to his role as co-chairman of NBC Entertainment, he served as executive producer for shows like The Office, The Biggest Loser, and Ugly Betty. He founded Electus in 2009, and while his new company doesn't produce exclusively for the web, it has created a host of engaging programs,...

It was created and executive produced by Tyrese Gibson's production company, HQ Productions; Electus execs Silverman, Drew Buckley and Evan Bregman are also executive producers along with reality TV veterans Liz Gateley and Tony Disanto.
