Marcus Lamb was born and raised in Georgia. He attended Lee University
in Cleveland, Tennessee and, at the age of 19, received a Bachelor of
Arts in theology. A minister since his youth, he met his wife, Joni,
while preaching at her church. The two were married in 1982 and have
three children, Jonathan, Rachel and Rebecca.
In 1985, Marcus and Joni Lamb founded the first dedicated Christian
television station in the state of Alabama. After working there for
several years, the couple moved to the Dallas/Fort Worth area to expand
their ministry. They worked on television locally at first, and then
began the Daystar Television Network in December of 1997.
Today Daystar is a global network with a presence in almost every
country in the world, thanks in large part to the diligence shown by
the Lambs. In addition to his work on Christian television, Marcus Lamb
is an in demand minister and conference speaker.
The Lambs reside in the Dallas/Fort Worth area with their three
children.
Marcus Lamb proposed to his wife, Joni, by placing a message inside a fortune cookie at a Chinese restaurant. The message read, "Joni Lynn, will you marry me?".
Marcus Lamb said that he first felt God leading him to begin a Christian television station while touring the Mount of Olives in Israel in 1983.
