She worked with Goldberg until he exited as chairman-ceo of Endemol’s North America operations late last year. He took on his new role at Banijay last month. “For more than twelve years, Caroline’s skills and expertise in identifying and creating potential future hits were a key driving force in the growth of Endemol USA,...

After Fmna turned to subsidiary Original Prods. to find a successor to topper Cécile Frot-Coutaz in Thom Beers, Endemol is doing the same, naming 51 Minds CEO Cris Abrego and Original Media CEO Charlie Corwin as Co-Chairman and Co-ceo of Endemol North America, replacing departing CEO David Goldberg. New York — Steve Harvey played hard-to-get before deciding to become a daytime television talk-show host.
The veteran comic, whose new show gets a jump on the fall season Tuesday, was first approached about a show three years ago when his first book, "Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man," was on the best-seller lists. The television production company Endemol thought the idea of Harvey giving women advice from a man's point of view made a perfect theme.
Harvey said no, thanks.
One of the original "Kings of Comedy" thought late-night was a better place for him on TV. Daytime is more sedate. He had a thriving stand-up career he wasn't ready to give up and a popular morning radio show broadcast across the country. Harvey also thought his suitors were trying to limit him.

Reality heavyweight Endemol USA is expanding its scripted TV operations with the launch of Endemol Studios, a Los Angeles-based TV independent TV studio. It will be headed by CEO Philippe Maigret, formerly Evp, North America Acquisitions, who will serve as CEO of the studio, reporting to Endemol North America chairman David Goldberg. Former Fox head of comedy Jeremy Gold, who launched Endemol USA's scripted TV development division in 2008 and has been overseeing the company's scripted efforts as Svp scripted programming, will serve as head of creative affairs of the new studio. When the first project developed by Gold to get to pilot, Hell on Wheels, received the green light by AMC, Endemol didn't produce it, with the network bringing in Entertainment One instead. Now the company says that the new operation will have the resources to finance the development of scripted projects and, most importantly, to deficit-finance the production of pilots and series.

“Fear Factor” was one of my favorite shows back in the late ’90s-early ’00s, and it was one of the precursors to the huge reality show craze that’s still (in some cases, sadly) going on today. But it would seem that reality television has come back full circle to when it was awesome; “Fear Factor” has finally returned to NBC! According to The Hollywood Reporter, NBC and Endemol are bringing the show back to television. The show will be updated; the host of the reboot has not yet been named, but Endemol North America Chairman David Goldberg has said that former host Joe Rogan is “high on the list”, according...

Almost five years after canceling "Fear Factor", NBC is reviving the action classic show and has ordered 10 episodes. The idea pops up after the show's repeats draw high ratings on sister cable channel Chiller.
"No one has come close to doing what they've done on that show," NBC's head of alternative programming Paul Telegdy says. "You go back and they've stood the test of time. It always had this incredible spectacle to it."
With stunt and camera technologies which have evolved since the first time the show was made, the reboot is aimed to be bigger and feature scarier stunts. However, Telegdy notes that "we don't necessarily need to do the stuff with maximum shock value."
Original executive producers David Hurwitz and Matt Kunitz are reuniting for the new "Fear Factor". Kunitz gushes in, "We're going to be able to take it to a new level." He further reveals that...

Could Joe Rogan return as Fear Factor host?
He’s “very high on the list” according to Endemol North America chairman David Goldberg. But the comedian and Ufc color commentator who add his own sardonic style to the role isn’t being ruled out.

Update, 06/03/11: Joe Rogan's "very high on the list" to host the new 'Fear Factor,' according to Endemol North America chairman David Goldberg. He told 'EW' that producers haven't made any decisions, but they'll sit down with Rogan and see if he's interested. Goldberg also confirmed that NBC has already ordered 10 episodes.
Today's news that 'Fear Factor' will return to NBC after five years off the air came as a bit of a surprise -- guess the new higher-ups at the network were fans back in the day.
But there was very little information out there to report on, other than the fact that NBC and production company Endemol USA were ready to start doing casting calls.
We had a lot of questions: What will the show look like now? Are there new challenges in store?...

Fear of reviving reality hits is not a factor for NBC. After spiking their ratings impressively with singing competition The Voice, the Peacock is now rebooting action classic Fear Factor.
NBC’s head of alternative programming Paul Telegdy says the notion first came to the network’s attention when sister cable channel Chiller saw high ratings for near decade-old Fear Factor repeats. Telegdy watched some of the encores himself and was impressed how well the action held up.

Exclusive: ABC has given a series order to 101 Ways to Leave a Game Show, a game show based on Endemol’s international format. Hosted by Jeff Sutphen (BrainSurge) and executive produced by Matt Kunitz (Wipeout), the six-episode series is slated to run this summer. 101 Ways, which shot a pilot for ABC last summer, features contestants competing in a series of multiple-choice questions for a $50,000 cash prize. The twist is that the main attraction comes after a contestant is actually eliminated as each of them is being ejected from the show in a spectacular fashion - i.e., being flown away strapped to the wing of a biplane, shot out of a cannon, pushed off the top of a moving semi-truck, dragged underwater by a one-ton anchor or yanked off a dock by a speedboat. Ouch! "101 Ways to Leave a Game Show is unlike any other show we've done before,” said David Goldberg,...
