Christina Barsi
- Actress
- Writer
- Producer
Born to Hungarian immigrants in the quaint little city of Hawaiian
Gardens, this Southern California classic was destined to enter the
world of show business since she was barely old enough to walk.
Although her father was an aerospace engineer and her mother a chemist
it seemed unlikely that little Christina would do anything except to
build a space shuttle or discover self dissolving plastic. But instead
the little blank brunette was performing her favorite songs or playing
characters made famous by her favorite actors by the age of 5. It was
during her high school years that her passion for acting blossomed when
she joined the drama club where she played dozens of roles and directed
a variety of popular plays. By the time she graduated from the
University of California San Diego the versatile Ms. Barsi had matured
into a polished young actress and playwright with a plethora of credits
that include an award winning self-written autobiographical one-woman
show called "Just A Girl-Yellow & Laughing". Shortly after graduating
with a B.A. in Theatre Arts she quickly landed the lead role at a large
city theatre venue in "Hannah and Martin" at The Lyceum Space winning
the Theatrical Excellence Award for Best Performance. It was her work
at the Lyceum Space that would ultimately lead to the role of the
wealthy femme fatale, Ashley Barrington on the ABC daytime Soap "Port
Charles". From the glitter of Hollywood it was off to the Big Apple and
the Off-Broadway stage where she appeared in a myriad of notable works.
It was while working the theatre district of New York that Christina's
striking good looks and strong performance caught the attention of
producers and she once again found herself on yet another daytime soap
"One Life To Live" as the strong-willed Deputy D.A. Dorothy Spencer.
Upon her return to the southland she was immediately signed with a
well-known L.A. theatrical agency and shortly thereafter began landing
one role after another.
