Fever Ray has shared an irrepressible new remix of “Carbon Dioxide” — a track off their acclaimed LP Radical Romantics — from DJ/producer/songwriter Avalon Emerson.
Both Emerson and Fever Ray’s Karin Dreijer have been teasing the remix for a few months now, with Emerson slipping it into summer festival setlists and Dreijer playing it on their Resident Advisor mix earlier this year. The remix finds Emerson ramping up the original groove to a swift, double-time pace as a repeating synth mantra bubbles up around Dreijer’s vocals.

Fever Ray’s Karin Dreijer ventures into a snowy expanse in the new music video for “North,” a track off their recent album, Radical Romantics, co-produced by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross.
Directed by longtime collaborator Martin Falck, the “North” video finds Fever Ray smack in the middle of the Swedish tundra, surrounded by ice, snow, distant mountains, and what look like shifting, crumbling glaciers.
“‘North’ is about the desire to find out what is true, the curiosity and courage to sit with the most difficult emotions,” Dreijer said in a statement.

Fever Ray’s new album Radical Romantics is out today, and along with the record, The Knife singer has shared the music video for single “Even It Out,” featuring Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross.
Reznor and Ross both co-produced and performed on “Even It Out,” an anti-bullying track aimed at the former nemesis of Karin Dreijer’s son. “This is for Zacharias/ Who bullied my kid in high school/ There’s no room for you/ And we know where you live,” the artist trills, over ominous synths and machine-like percussion. Meanwhile, the track’s music video takes a campier approach, as Dreijer dons a thick slab of drag makeup in a nod to John Waters’ Female Trouble. Reznor and Ross also make cameos in the video. Check it out below.

Fever Ray returns with their first new musical release in five years, an eerily watchful track titled “What They Call Us,” written and co-produced with Karin Dreijer’s The Knife counterpart Olof Dreijer.
“First I’d like to say that I’m sorry / I’ve done all the tricks that I can,” Fever Ray reconciles in the opening verse. Later on, the thrumming beat wraps up a series of questions as they wonder: “Can I just hold you for a minute / Some things just ain’t easy to repair / The...

Fever Ray, the alias of The Knife’s Karin Dreijer for her solo project, has announced the release of Live at the Troxy, which was recorded during Dreijer’s March 2018 performance at Troxy in London, England. It will be released on August 2nd via her label Rabid Records and Mute.
The performance was in support of 2017 sophomore album, the compelling Plunge. The 16-track set comprises songs mostly from her second LP, alongside a smattering of other tracks, including haunting standouts “When I Grow Up” and “If I Had a Heart” from her excellent self-titled 2009 debut.

Every week, IndieWire asks a select handful of film and TV critics two questions and publishes the results on Monday. (The answer to the second, “What is the best film in theaters right now?”, can be found at the end of this post.)
This week’s question:
Last Friday saw the release of Garth Davis’ “Lion,” the musical score for which is the gorgeous result of a collaboration between two giants of the neo-classical movement, Dustin O’Halloran and Hauschka. It’s just the latest indication that we’re living in a fascinating, vibrant time for movie music, and December boasts a number of films that will only add more fuel to that fire. With that in mind, we asked our panel of critics to name their favorite film score of the 21st Century.
