Jean-Paul Commin started his career as a film and music journalist. In 1968 he is one of the editors in chief of Best magazine, and in 1973 he is the co-founder of the famous French rock magazine Extra.
In 1976 he becomes director of the music label Phonogram, before joining WEA Music Warner.
In 1990 he is nominated CEO of N.M.V (Canal+;Claude Berri/Pathé) and takes charge of the collection "Les films de ma vie".
He has also been the managing director of SEV (Syndicat de l'Edition Vidéo),as well as Director of the International Video Federation in Brussels for 10 years.
In 1999 he becomes Deputy-Director General of France Télévisions Distribution.
He is member and treasurer of Europa International, and honorary member of The French Film Export association.
