After a historic season that saw the Boston Bruins go 65-12-5 for 135 points, with an absurd goal differential of +128… they lost to the Florida Panthers in Game 7 of the first round of the NHL Playoffs. It’s a disappointing result, compounded by the fact that future Hall of Famer Patrice Bergeron chose to hang up the skates over the summer. He’s doing it on a high note after the best season in wins and points for a team in NHL history, plus a second straight Selke Trophy to boot.
Despite losing a talent like Bergeron, Boston will be looking to pick up in 2023-24 where they left last season off. Their d-core is one of the best in the NHL, with rugged Charlie McAvoy eating minutes on the top pair, along with Hampus Lindholm. They are rock-solid in the net as well, with Linus Ullmark and Jeremy Swayman sharing the crease.
