Nicole De la Mora
- Cinematographer
- Camera and Electrical Department
Nicole's journey into the world of cinematography was anything but conventional. Prior to pursuing her passion behind the camera, she spent over a decade immersed in music, honing her skills as a violinist in a teen symphonic orchestra in her hometown in northern Mexico.
Her artistic exploration continued as she delved into analog still photography at the Facultad de Artes Visuales in Monterrey, Mexico. It was here that her love for visual storytelling truly took root, as she experimented with both photography and video, laying the groundwork for her future in cinematography.
Upon making the leap to Mexico City, Nicole wasted no time diving headfirst into the film industry. Starting off as a script supervisor and art assistant for feature films, she tirelessly worked her way into the coveted camera department.
Her dedication paid off when she landed a role at a prestigious film equipment rental house, where she received extensive training as a camera loader for Super 16, S35 ARRI Cameras, and high-speed film cameras. It was during this period that Nicole had the opportunity to collaborate with top-tier local and international directors of photography on commercial campaigns, solidifying her determination to pursue a career as a cinematographer.
But Nicole's creativity knows no bounds. In addition to her work in the mainstream industry, she thrives on independent projects, blending cinematography with various artistic disciplines. Her collaborations span across different production houses, brands, and film productions, showcasing her versatility as a multidisciplinary artist.
Nicole's passion for sharing knowledge and fostering creativity led her to serve as an Arri Camera technical advisor and workshop facilitator at the Centro de Capacitación Cinematográfica (CCC) Mexico for four years. Through her workshops on ARRI and Codex equipment, she empowered aspiring filmmakers to harness the full potential of their tools and craft.
With her diverse background, unwavering dedication, and boundless creativity, Nicole continues to make her mark in the world of cinematography, inspiring others to pursue their artistic passions with fervor and tenacity.
