Exclusive: CAA has laid off a number of staff in its global TV division and is centralizing the team to the U.S. and UK.
We understand that staffers based in countries such as Mexico, Africa, Germany and the UK have been made redundant; less than 10 people have been affected.
One of CAA’s most prominent global TV agents, Stockholm-based Pete Stone, is relocating to London. Stone moved to Stockholm nearly four years ago when ICM Partners – prior to its CAA acquisition – took a minority stake in Swedish agency Albatros. In London, CAA rival UTA acquired storied British agency Curtis Brown in 2022.
Details of CAA’s move to centralize global TV to the U.S. and London are still being ironed out and there could be more strategic shifts to come, we understand. A spokesman for CAA, which employees about 3,400 people, declined comment.

ICM Partners has acquired a significant minority stake in the Stockholm, Sweden-based boutique lit agency Albatros. ICM partner Pete Stone will move to Sweden where he will work closely with Albatros managing partners Martina Österling and Elin Sandström Lundh on opportunities for Albatros clients in Europe and in the U.S. as well as on collaborations with ICM clients on both sides of the Atlantic.
This is ICM Partners’ second European agency investment this year, following a deal for music-focused London based Primary Talent International in March, as U.S. talent agencies are increasingly looking abroad for growth opportunities.
Albatros represents film and TV writers and directors from the Scandinavian region, as well as a growing catalog of IP they develop and sell media rights for through a partnership with Partners in Stories. Their list of clients create, write and direct English-language and local-language scripted programming for a number of outlets including Netflix,...

ICM Partners has taken a minority stake in Stockholm-based lit agency Albatros.
As part of the investment, ICM veteran Pete Stone will relocate to Sweden and help run Albatros alongside founders and managing partners Martina Österling and Elin Sandström Lundh. The duo founded Albatros in 2017.
The deal with Albatros is part of ICM’s effort to expand its global footprint in key territories. It comes on the heels of ICM’s similar investment in London-based music agency Primary Talent International in March.
ICM Partners’ London office flagged an investment in Albatros as an opportunity for agency CEO Chris Silbermann. After meeting with Österling and Sandström Lundh, Silbermann realized they would be a good fit with ICM’s existing lit operations. The Nordics have become a hot territory for Hollywood IP, from novelist Stieg Larsson’s “Girl With the Dragon Tattoo” series to TV formats and films.
“They have great clients and great formats.
