The great Kevin Costner chats to us about his role in Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit, and how he nearly played Superman...
In Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit, Kevin Costner plays high-ranking CIA operative Thomas Harper, the handler responsible for recruiting and looking after young agent-to-be Jack Ryan (Chris Pine). The role marks the start of a busy year or so for Costner, who'll soon be appearing in 3 Days To Kill, Draft Day, Black And White and McFarland.
For an actor whose pace has slowed in recent years, it marks a fresh period of work, and we're hoping it'll build to another directorial gig for Costner, who hasn't been behind the camera since 2003's acclaimed Open Range.
Costner talks a little bit about his directing plans in the round-table interview below, which took place while Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit was still filming last year. The...

In the immortal words of "Movie Star" Rona Thorne, that episode of Archer was... "Amaaaaazing!" Guest-voiced by Rachael Harris, Rona fit in perfectly with the Isis crew.
The tightly-knit (sorry, macrame) episodes featured four storylines that all centered around Rona's appearance:
Lana and Rona's girl power served as the primary storyline and it was nice to see Lana given the leading lady position again after being pushed to the backburner for many episodes. Even if she did let Rona blindside her with too much ego-stroking. Archer's Adventure featured some of the best comedic bits from going deaf ("Mah! Mah!") to unleashed Krieger Bots. Of course, the idiot was too busy spiting Lana to stop the sniper. Cyril and Malory definitely gave the Isis comptroller some good lines fresh off his own adventure last week. Probably did not need to see this two get it on, though. But at least it...

General William “Wild Bill” Donovan—director of the Office of Strategic Services (the country’s first national intelligence agency) and father of today’s Central Intelligence Agency—has largely remained a mythic figure and one of the nation’s most legendary spymasters. In his new book, Wild Bill Donovan: The Spymaster Who Created the Oss and Modern American Espionage (Free Press), Washington journalist Douglas Waller discloses the top-secret missions of Donovan’s intelligence career. Below, Waller introduces the ardent leader who lobbied to convince President Truman to create a post-World War II Oss—“the Petri dish” for spies who later ran the CIA. Listen to the podcast after the jump.

There are only a few cardinal rules for those who spend their days writing about film. For anyone who takes "the movies" seriously, the one Golden Rule is generally this: Don't Spoil The Movie! And I don't just mean movies like The Sixth Sense or The Crying Game; I mean any film that has at least one cool twist, colorful concept, or unexpected diversion that's hidden somewhere after Act I draws to a close. Why a film critic would want to ruin the enjoyment of a film for someone else is beyond my comprehension. Even if I, as a film critic, H A T E D a flick, that gives me no freaking right to destroy the experience for someone who might.
Unfortunately it seems that Creative Screenwriting's Bill Donovan feels different. He's so certain of his opinion, and he thinks so little of yours, that he's willing to (blithely,...
