- A martial artist, Melissa is a 1st Dan Blackbelt in Freestyle Kickboxing, with further training and belts in Mixed Style Martial Arts, among other combat sports.
- During her time as Client Relations Director of the world's first online events network (2001 - 2003), Melissa organized an event dubbed 'the network party of the year' by Events Specialist magazine. Featured on the BBC, the Orient-themed event, which she also designed, was hosted in the St. James Square marquee, Mayfair, London, and attended by over 500 executives from FTSE 100 companies.
