- Rob Oliver was born on March 25, 1977 in Owosso, Michigan, USA. Rob is an assistant director and director, known for The Simpsons (1989), The Simpsons Movie (2007) and The Force Awakens from Its Nap (2021).
- His favorite character to draw is Homer, as well as Sideshow Bob and Krusty the Clown.
- Rob graduated from Owosso High School in 1995. He was hired to draw The Simpsons about a year and a half later.
- Rob directed 'Treehouse of Horror XXIV', for which two of his artists won individual Emmy Awards -- Dima Malanitchev for Color Design and Charles Ragins for BG Design.
- Rob is a Detroit Tigers fan. When he directed his first Simpsons episode, 'The Boys of Bummer', he modeled the Bill Buckner-esque character -- Joe LaBoot -- loosely on Sparky Anderson, the Tigers manager during their championship 1984 season and during Rob's childhood.
- Rob has directed commercials, dvd menus, and ancillary projects for The Simspons, including the live-action/animated Renault commercial for the car called the Kangoo.
