Michael Sanchez is C.E.O. of Axis Management, a Hollywood-based talent management and production firm specializing in the development of unknown artists into powerful international brands. Sanchez began his career at International Creative Management where he skipped the mail room and quickly rose through the ranks. Recent success stories include Mandy Moore, Dan Karaty, Julianne Hough, Lauren Sanchez, John Phillips, Tamara Holder, Mary Murphy, and Scottie Nell Hughes, just to name a few.
As co-founder of Double Tap Media, Sanchez develops and produces film and T.V. projects like Killer Movie, starring Kaley Cuoco, Paul Wesley, Leighton Meester and Robert Buckley; multi-award-winning feature films Soof, Soof 2 and Soof the Series, starring Lies Visschedijk; The Ultimate Dance Battle, So You Think You Can Dance, and Time To Dance, as well as Ella which is in pre-production.
Formerly a Director of Sales & Marketing at Viacom's MTV Networks, Sanchez was involved in the success of over twenty diverse television networks including MTV, Nickelodeon, VH1, Logo and Spike. His crowning achievement was closing the deal which opened China to MTV Networks. Sanchez was also involved in the creative and financial success of many popular and critically acclaimed television shows including: Real World, SpongeBob Squarepants, VH1 Divas, MTV Movie Awards, Total Request Live, and the Video Music Awards.
Sanchez is a member of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences and was honored to receive the Governor's Award at the 2000 Primetime Emmys for contributions to the Emmy-winning program VH1 Save The Music.
Sanchez is an accomplished competitive tennis player, competing in 10 - 14 tournaments each year in cities like Amsterdam, Atlanta, Bangkok, Chicago, New York, Paris, Sydney, and Toronto. He has won over 50 championships since 1993. He and his husband live in West Hollywood, CA.
