- His short script The Tie took 1st Place for short screenplay in the Spirit Quest Film Festival, 2011, and was one of three runner ups in the 2010 Independent Short Film, Music and Art Festival.
- His screenplay, A Nuclear Option, took first place in the Story Pros Awards in the Action-Adventure genre (4th Annual) and second place in the Woods Hole Film Festival Mystery-Thriller genre. As well, A Nuclear Option placed as a Top Ten Finalist in the Going Green Film Festival and has taken multiple other placements.
- His script, Twinks, placed as a semi-finalist in the Creative World Awards, 2010, and in current judging is a quarter-finalist in the 15th Fade In: Awards
- Kate, another of Philip's scripts placed in the top 25 of the Going Green Film Festival, 2010. As well, it became a finalist in the Mountain Film Festival, 2010, and the 2011 Charleston International Film Festival.
- Philip's short screenplay, Body of Work, took top ten honors in the 2010, Elmore Leonard Literary Arts and Film Festival.
