“I’m all about breaking boundaries,” Lavender declared in her pre-taped interview. The judges had nothing but praises for her live rendition of the Foreigner classic, with Heidi announcing, “I am so proud of you … I hope that everyone is going to vote for you so that we can go to the next round together.” Simon Cowell chimed in, “It’s just the most amazing feeling when a contestant who everyone loves nails it, and...

One of the most talked-about acts to come out of this year’s “America’s Got Talent” auditions is Putri Ariani, thanks in no small part to Simon Cowell blessing her with his Season 18 Golden Buzzer. All these months later, Simon is reflecting on the 17-year-old blind singer/songwriter’s audition at the piano and he’s expecting big things for her in this competition. “I would be amazed if she’s not either the winner or the runner-up. I mean, that’s who I put my money on,” he reveals in the NBC video above.
Putri came all the way from Indonesia to show the world her talent, and she performed two songs on the big stage: “Loneliness” and “Sorry Seems to Be the Hardest Word.” “There was something about her, even before she started to sing,” Simon now declares. “I just — I had a feeling. And I’ve done this a long time.

When do the “America’s Got Talent” Season 18 live shows start? Mark your calendars for Tuesday, August 22 (performance show) and Wednesday, August 23 (results show), as that’s when the first two live episodes will take place for this Summer 2023 cycle, NBC has confirmed to Gold Derby. Note that the ongoing writers’ and actors’ strikes do not affect unscripted programming, so that’s why your screens are about to be filled up with more and more reality TV shows.
As always, “AGT” judges Simon Cowell, Howie Mandel, Heidi Klum and Sofia Vergara will be on hand to critique the live performances, with Terry Crews back as host. But the live shows are when the power officially shifts from the judging panel to You at home. Each week, viewers get to vote on their favorite contestants, and only those who receive the most votes will advance to the next round.

“I found that a little corny,” Howie Mandel declared after watching The Rybka Twins perform their synchronized acrobatic routine during the July 18 episode of “America’s Got Talent.” The sisters from Perth, Australia previously met Simon Cowell on the “AGT” red carpet, where he told them to audition this year. Sure enough, they took him up on his offer, and the rest is history. While Simon and Heidi Klum were wowed by their performance on the big stage, Howie and Sofia Vergara were less enthused. Watch the video above.
Howie trashed the twins’ “music choice” and their “dance choice,” declaring, “That would not go viral on TikTok. Pick different music and pick different moves and make it for a younger audience. You’re 27.” For the record, their acrobatic dance routine was set to the tunes “Sway” by The Pussycat Dolls and “I Will Survive” by Gloria Gaynor.

“America’s Got Talent” fans who get squeamish watching horror movies may want to close their eyes during a portion of the upcoming July 18 episode. The act that Howie Mandel simply dubs “scary” is a dance group named Atai Show that’s made up of four members who don’t speak a word. They come out on stage and perform their petrifying routine for judges Howie, Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum and Sofia Vergara while wearing creepy masks and costumes. Watch the sneak peek video above for “AGT” Auditions 7.
At first, Atai Show seems to be an act simply dedicated to moving their bodies and contorting their joints into uncomfortable and inhuman-like positions. The freaky music and sound effects even gives the illusion that something from above is controlling them, as if they were nothing but rag dolls.

The Season 17 finale of “America’s Got Talent” aired Wednesday night on NBC, and viewers are mostly happy with the outcome. To recap, Lebanese dance group Mayyas (Sofia Vergara‘s Golden Buzzer) won the 1 million prize, while pole dancer/animator Kristy Sellars came in second place and country singer Drake Milligan finished third. But in our overnight poll that asked fans to vote on who Really deserved to win, their results were essentially tied between two acts: Drake nabbed 29 and Mayyas scored 28. No other contestant received double digits. Here are the complete “AGT” poll results:

The Qualifiers 5 episode of “America’s Got Talent” aired Tuesday, September 6 on NBC with 11 acts performing live on the big stage. One of those acts was dance group Mayyas from Lebanon, who just so happened to be Sofia Vergara‘s Golden Buzzer from the auditions round. “Thirty-six women dancing as one — it’s magic,” Sofia said about why she picked Mayyas as her Golden Buzzer all those months ago. Watch the “AGT” live show video above.
“Having our own show in Las Vegas — that would be the dream,” the ladies stated in their video package. This time around, Mayyas’ collective goal was to “hypnotize” the judges and make everyone “believe in magic.” Well, it appears they absolutely wowed the crowd with their perfectly synchronized dances in which they appeared as trees and snakes.
Following the performance, Sofia was so excited that she jumped up on stage and gave them all a group hug.

Who’s performing tonight on “America’s Got Talent“? The Season 17 live shows continue September 6 on NBC with the fifth and final qualifiers group. Among this week’s contenders are Sofia Vergara‘s Golden Buzzer dance group Mayyas from Lebanon, who are hoping to become the second dance act in “AGT” history to make the winners list after Kenichi Ebina. Remember, only two out of this week’s 11 acts will advance to next week’s season finale, which means nine performers will be eliminated on Wednesday night.
Besides Mayyas, there are three other dance acts hoping to wow America: pole dancer Kristy Sellars, teenage soloist Max Ostler and acrobatic group urbancrew (Flyers of the South).

It’s been a whopping nine years since a dancer won “America’s Got Talent.” Japanese performance artist Kenichi Ebina wowed the judges in Season 8 and took home the 1 million prize — see the show’s winners list. Cut to today, where New Zealand tap dancer Bayley Graham is aiming to follow in Kenichi’s footsteps by becoming only the second dancer to win in the history of NBC’s reality TV show. Do you think he has what it takes?
The 22-year-old hoofer took the stage during the July 26 episode and initially threw off the judges by underselling just how good he actually was. “Please someone hire me,” Bayley pleaded when Simon Cowell asked if he had a day job. His big dream in life is to have his “own show in Vegas,” adding, “I’m from New Zealand. We don’t get a lot of opportunities sadly. Now I’m in this big place.

Has NBC’s long-running reality TV show “America’s Got Talent” found its next superstar? After 18-year-old Australian dancer Max Ostler performed his solo lyrical piece on the big stage during the June 14 episode, Simon Cowell called him the “Harry Styles of dance.” Those are big words indeed from the influential reality judge, whose British TV show “The X Factor” helped put Styles on the map in 2010 with his boy band One Direction.
Donning a white tank top, Max revealed that his dream in life is to be the “most sought-out choreographer and dancer in the world.” You could hear a pin drop during his solo piece, which was set to “Falling Like The Stars” by James Arthur, as the entire audience watched his every move. “I’ve always faced self doubt where I’ve gone through stages where I think, I don’t know if this is for me,” the talented teenager stated.

NBC’s long-running reality TV show “America’s Got Talent” has had its fair share of successful winners over the years. But none has struck a chord with viewers more than ventriloquist Darci Lynne Farmer. This talented tyke from Season 12 has become one of the most viral acts ever, with her original 2017 audition racking up more than 350,000,000 views. In our recent poll asking fans to name their favorite “Agt” winner of all time, Darci Lynne unsurprisingly topped the list at 38%. Only three other champs came in with double-digit support: close-up magician Shin Lim in second place at 18%, singer/ukuleleist Grace VanderWaal in third place at 12% and singer/pianist Kodi Lee in fourth place at 10%.

To celebrate its 15th anniversary, “America’s Got Talent” aired a two-hour retrospective on Tuesday night full of fun clips and new interviews with judges Simon Cowell, Howie Mandel Heidi Klum and Sofia Vergara. Many of the recent “Agt” winners were spotlighted, including ventriloquist Darci Lynne Farmer and close-up magician Shin Lim, but not some of the older champions. “We have no audience but we’re gonna be cheering for you guys,” Sofia Vergara tells the Wildcats, a Plano, Texas cheer team, on the Tuesday, June 30 episode of “America’s Got Talent” (watch above). That’s when Howie Mandel jokingly interjects, “I think they’re gonna be cheering for us.” For the first time in “Agt” history, there’s no studio audience in attendance due to concerns about the coronavirus. Heidi Klum is still out sick (thankfully not from Covid-19), so guest judge Eric Stonestreet joins Sofia, Howie and Simon Cowell at the judging panel.

What do you get when you mix dancing, contortionism and puppetry? It can only be “Agt’s” marionette dancer Noah Epps. This 11-year-old boy from Ashburn, Virginia took the stage during Tuesday’s fourth episode of “America’s Got Talent” Season 15 and blew the roof off the theater with his amazing skills. The judges — Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum, Sofia Vergara and Howie Mandel — gave him four “yes” votes, advancing him to the next round, but not before they heard his personal story about being told by bullies that he wasn’t good enough. Now Noah is sounding off in a new NBC interview (watch above) about what brought him to the reality TV stage.
“A couple years ago I saw these kids, they were dance battling,” Noah declares. “I tried to get in, but they told me I couldn’t dance and I was no good at it. Here I am now,...

Every once in a while an act comes along that causes a rift at the “America’s Got Talent” judges’ table, and marionette dancer Noah Epps was just that act. At the top of Tuesday night’s episode, the 11-year-old was getting ready for his performance when Howie Mandel declared, “Single dancers are always harder to me,” referring to them having to command the “big stage” all on their own. That’s when Heidi Klum interjected, “No, it depends on how good they are.” For the next 90 seconds, Noah entertained the crowd with his puppet-like moves and creepy contortionism (watch above), and sure enough, Howie’s mind was completely changed.

“Howie was saying it’s hard for one dancer to command the stage, but 11-year-old Noah got us all up on our feet,” Heidi declared at the conclusion of the boy’s high-octane performance.

From singers to dancers to danger acts and everything in between, “America’s Got Talent” is TV’s only competition show that embraces all forms of variety acts. Throughout its 15 years on the air, seven singers have claimed victory with the others being a mix of ventriloquists, magicians, etc. (See the “Agt” winners list.) However, there are five specific variety acts that have yet to win the top prize of $1 million and a headline show in Las Vegas. Can any of these acts make history for “America’s Got Talent” in Season 15?

The judges weighed their choices and ultimately decided to keep dog act Alexa Lauenburger, thereby ending the dreams of singer Michael Grimm and choreographers Quick Style

However, someone who’s set to pop up in a later episode is singer/songwriter Michael Grimm, the winner of “America’s Got Talent” Season 5. Grimm was just 30 years old when he prevailed on September 15, 2010 over classical singer Jackie Evancho. Now the 41-year-old is ready to take the “Agt” stage once again and try to hold onto his winning title as the ultimate “Champion.”
SEEAre you happy Heidi Klum is returning to ‘America’s Got Talent’ for ‘The Champions’ Season 2? [Poll]
Some of Grimm’s memorable performances on that fifth season included “You Don’t Know Me” (audition) “Let’s Stay Together” (Top 10), “You Can Leave Your Hat On” (semi-finals) and “When A Man Loves A Woman” (finals). His prize was a cool $1 million and a headline show in Las Vegas.

A group variety act has never won “Agt,” although Detroit Youth Choir came tantalizing close this year. Perhaps it was their age that worked against them. “Does anybody like contemporary dance, out of interest?” wonders a cranky Simon Cowell during Tuesday’s upcoming episode of “America’s Got Talent.” When Julianne Hough responds that she does, Simon fires back, “Anyone else?” Well, thanks to kid dancers Izzy (age 11) and Easton (age 14), Simon is apparently now a lover of contemporary dance because he gives the Las Vegas childhood friends a rousing standing ovation following their performance of a soldier going off to war and leaving his sister behind. Did you watch the final of “America’s Got Talent: The Champions” in the hope that you could vote for the winner? How frustrated are you to find out this spin-off of “America’s Got Talent” was taped months ago and that you were robbed of chance to cast a ballot for your favorite of the 12 finalists.
While it was fun to see the winners from various editions of the “Got Talent” franchise competing against each other, it is hard to get too invested in the results knowing that they were decided long ago. The ultimate champion was determined by a small group of “Agt” viewers who were flown to Los Angeles to attend the tapings of the five audition episodes and the October 14 finale.
NBC says that among the superfans are representatives of each of the 50 states. However, not all of the superfans attended each taping. We do know...

Back in Season 8 of “America’s Got Talent,” visual dance artist Kenichi Ebina became the first (and so far only) dance act to win the million dollar prize. Now that he’s returned in “America’s Got Talent: The Champions,” NBC’s spinoff series that pits 50 acts from around the world against each other, he tried to do the unthinkable and win twice. Unfortunately, perhaps thanks to Mel B‘s criticisms, Kenichi was eliminated prior to advancing to the Finals. Watch Kenichi’s “Agt: Champions” video above.

Simon Cowell said in the first episode of “America’s Got Talent: The Champions” that many past winners of the “Got Talent” shows around the world didn’t want to return for NBC’s spinoff series because they were afraid of losing. Well, it looks like their fears were justified.
In just the first two episodes of “Agt: Champions,” a whopping six winners dropped like flies: singing ventriloquist Darci Lynne Farmer (“America’s Got Talent” 12), singer Bianca Ryan (“Agt” 1), dog act Ashleigh and Sully (“Britain’s Got Talent” 6), jump ropers Ddf Crew (“Holland’s Got Talent” 5), sword swallower Alex Magala (“Russia’s Got Talent” 8) and dance troupe Justice Crew (“Australia’s Got Talent” 4). So far the only winner to make it into the Finals has been opera/rock singer Cristina Ramos (“Spain’s Got Talent”), thanks to the Superfan voters.

Bianca Ryan launched the “America’s Got Talent” franchise 13 years ago. She was only 11 when her soaring voice sent 20 million Americans to their phones and computers to vote her the first-ever winner back in the summer of 2006. She took home a cool million dollars and inked a deal with Simon Cowell’s record company.
Her self-titled first album was released in the fall of 2006 to good reviews and decent sales. She followed this up with two Christmas albums and several singles. Then ill health forced her to scale back on her performance schedule. In 2016, she had vocal and abdominal surgery after being told she was high-risk candidate for esophageal cancer. One of her vocal cords was paralyzed and she has worked tirelessly since to regain her singing voice.
