Exclusive: Disney Branded Television has given a series green light to Hailey’s On It!, an original animated comedy-adventure, from longtime writing and producing partners Devin Bunje and Nick Stanton and Disney Television Animation. Auli’i Cravalho (Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Moana) voices the title character, Hailey; along with Manny Jacinto as Scott, Hailey’s best friend; and Gary Anthony Williams (The Boondocks) as Beta, an artificially intelligent operating system from the future. The series is slated to debut in 2023.
Created and executive produced by Bunje and Stanton, Hailey’s On It! follows Hailey Banks (Cravalho), a risk-averse but resourceful teenager on a mission to complete every item on her long list of challenging (and sometimes impractical) tasks in order to save the world. Led by Tiffany Haddish and Ali Wong, “Tuca and Bertie” sports a truly interesting voice cast with some genuine surprises in the mix, including Oscar nominees, Emmy winners, and British TV favorites. The animated adventures of two best bird friends, created by Lisa Hanawalt, takes some sad and dark turns, but the actors prove more than capable of handling the challenges, bringing out the inherent humanity in their animal creations on screen.
The large ensemble plays such a wide range of characters that it’s difficult to identify every single character that every single actor plays (especially since a number of them double up on roles). Beyond the cast members specified below for individual roles, credited cast members include Emily Axford, Shamir Bailey, Kate Berlant, Cole Escola, Jermaine Fowler, Karen Graci, Georgia Hardstark, Karen Kilgariff, Betsy Sodaro, Sheila Vand, Baron Vaughn, and David Wain, with Hanawalt and executive producer Raphael Bob-Waksberg also contributing voices.

While accepting the Critics' Choice Award for Best Comedy Film on Thursday night, Bridesmaids producer Judd Apatow skewered legendary funnyman Jerry Lewis, giving him the big old 'F*ck you!"
At the end of his acceptance speech, Apatow remarked, "Jerry Lewis once said that he didn't think women were funny, so I'd just like to say, with all respect, 'F*ck you!'"
While I’m not sure if bashing an 85-year-old onstage at the Critics’ Choice Awards is the most appropriate venue for such remarks -- I can’t say I disagree with the sentiment. In fact, I wholeheartedly agree with it.
Here’s some backstory on Lewis’ sexist statement: During a Q&A session at the U.S. Comedy Arts Festival in Aspen in 1998, the original Nutty Professor told the audience, "I don't like any women comedians" and "A woman doing comedy doesn't offend me but sets me back a bit.
