Victor Delgado, is an award-winning documentary filmmaker, sports producer and director. The New York Film Academy Alumni was born in Puerto Rico and raised in The Bronx.
In addition to producing documentaries, Delgado also produced "Yankees Honor Mariano in Panama" (MLB Network) and Pedro Martinez Returns as a Hall of Famer" (MLB Network). He is one of the producers of the Emmy-winning series ESPN Films 30 on 30 Brothers in Exile (2014). "Brothers in Exile" tells the incredible story of Livan and Orlando "El Duque" Hernandez, who risked their lives to get off the island. Livan left first, banking on his status as the hottest young prospect in Cuba he defected via Mexico and signed with the Florida Marlins, for whom he became one of the youngest World Series MVPs in history in 1997. Staying behind was Orlando, who was banned from professional baseball in Cuba for life because he was suspected of having helped Livan escape. Then, on Christmas 1997, an increasingly frustrated and harassed Orlando left Cuba in a small boat. He was stranded on a deserted island for days before being picked up by the U.S. Coast Guard. Less than a year later, "El Duque" was helping pitch the New York Yankees to a world championship, completing a most unlikely journey for two half-brothers who rode their arms to freedom and triumph.
He also was a producer on EPIX Presents David Ortiz: In The Moment (2014). The documentary which is a close-up look at the life and accomplishments of one of sport's most colorful, thoughtful and productive stars... and traces Ortiz's path from The Dominican Republic to stardom and lets us into 'Big Papi's' world." The original documentary profiling Boston Red Sox superstar David Ortiz inside Fenway Park and beyond. Known to fans as "Big Papi," the 3-time World Series Champion became a key figure in bringing hope to his adopted city, during both the aftermath of the Boston Marathon bombing and an emotional run at the 2013 title.
He has an extensive background in television in different aspects of the business from scouting locations, conducting interviews with professional athletes and celebrities to covering live events domestically and internationally. He has experience traveling to the Dominican Republic, Venezuela, Colombia, Panama and Mexico. Covering events such as golf tournaments, All-Star Games, World Baseball Classic and the World Series. He was the field producer of the Spanish show "Sabor a Beisbol" an MTV Cribs style off the field show that focused on Latino Major League Baseball Superstars.
