Here’s your first look at Nicolas Cage and co-star Jay Baruchel on the New York set of their fantasy movie “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice”. In the film, Cage plays a sorcerer, and Baruchel is his apprentice, and I guess they time-travel to present day New York City at one point. Or maybe the whole thing is set in the present day, though that wouldn’t explain Cage’s clothes. Pics after the jump. A sorcerer (Cage) leaves his workshop in the hands of his apprentice (Baruchel), who gets into trouble when the broomstick he’s tasked to do his chores for him somehow develops a mind of its own. “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice” co-stars Teresa Palmer, Alfred Molina, Omar Benson Miller, Peyton List, and Nicole Ehinger. Jon Turteltaub, who directed Cage in the “National Treasures” movies, is doing this one as well. The whole thing is supposed to be very heavy on special effects.
