Steven Soderbergh wasn’t the first filmmaker to shoot an entire movie on an iPhone, but with his latest film “High Flying Bird” he’s proved yet again that it’s totally possible to have a professional, beautiful looking movie filmed with something that fits in your pocket. Here are some other feature films and a few shorts that have made use of Apple’s flagship smartphone.
“High Flying Bird” (2019)
Soderbergh shot “High Flying Bird” on an iPhone 8, which is now capable of filming in 4K resolution. The wealthy and bright realms of power atop expensive restaurants and skyscrapers for high-powered agents is far different than the mood Soderbergh was chasing on “Unsane,” but the film even has a sequence in which the action of a one-on-one basketball match isn’t captured on camera but by teenagers on, what else, their phones.

The Krites first came to the big screen two years after Gremlins, but they didn’t need to be fed after midnight to become evil—they were malevolent little monsters from the get-go in 1986’s Critters and its three sequels. The ferocious furballs are set to make a comeback in an upcoming digital series from Warner Bros., but you can see the return of the Krites right now in a new short fan film, Critters: Bounty Hunter.
Created with a six-person crew and helmed by Jordan Downey, the director of ThanksKilling and ThanksKilling 3, Critters: Bounty Hunter is Downey’s bid for the director’s chair on the digital series, while also serving as an early holiday gift for Critters fans.
“The Following Is A Fan Film.

Some people hated ThanksKilling, others (like me) thought it was fantastic piece of horror humor. Needless to say, I was thrilled when I heard there was going to be a sequel. And it's finally on its way.
ThanksKilling 3 (yep, they skipped past #2, but, in a rather clever way) centers once again around the fowl-mouthed villian 'Turkie' as he hacks his way to locate the last copu of "ThanksKilling 2". The rare film has found itself in the hands of a bunch of disturbed puppets.
Check out the poster below and watch for a trailer to be posted on MoreHorror sometime next week.

I was unaware that there was a Thankskilling 1, but there you go. This seems to be one of those films with tongue planted so firmly in cheek that it threatens to burst through the skin. And with that image in your head, check out the new poster for Thankskilling 3, one of the first fruits of a new generation of crowdfunded films. This exists thanks to a Kickstarter campaign, so the public is whom to blame/thank for the film.
