As of May 2011, is a staff scientist at the National Institute of
Standards and Technology in Gaithersburg, MD. Dr. Foecke also conducts
research into preservation of iconic shipwrecks such as the USS
Arizona, the USS Monitor, the CSS Hunley and the Ellis Island Ferry.
Participated in the the NIST analysis of the collapse of the World
Trade Center towers. He also teaches at Johns Hopkins and the
University of Maryland.
