Brian Robinson, a rookie running back for the Washington Commanders, was the victim of an attempted armed robbery or carjacking, and the NFL reports that Robinson sustained “non-life threatening injuries and is currently being treated at the hospital.”
According to the police, Robinson was found outdoors in the D.C. area with two gunshot wounds to his glute and lower leg. There are two suspects who were involved in the shooting, and one firearm was recovered near the scene.
The player went through minor surgery in the hospital, but he seems to be doing alright in recovery. Robinson’s coach, Ron Rivera said, “it’ll be a matter of time” before Robinson’s back on the field.
“It’s really just about the healing process,” Rivera told reporters, though he assured fans that the player’s progress was “positive.”

Attorneys for Brian Flores, the ex-Miami Dolphins coach who is filing a class action suit against the league for not making a greater effort at recruiting minority coaches, have responded to NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell’s statement concerning diversity and inclusion.
The Flores complaint (read it Here) is a proposed class-action case naming the league, the Dolphins, the New York Giants and the Denver Broncos as defendants. “John Doe teams 1-29” also are named, which could enable other class-action participants to target additional teams.
The lawsuit’s timing could not be worse for the league, which is gearing up for the Feb. 13 Super Bowl at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, Calif.
The NFL has issued a statement on the allegations of racial discrimination, saying they are “without merit.” In its full statement, the league said: “The NFL and our clubs are deeply committed to ensuring equitable employment practices and continue...

Updated with NFL response: The NFL says the allegations of racial discrimination detailed by former Miami Dolphins head coach Brian Flores are “without merit.” In its full statement, the league said: “The NFL and our clubs are deeply committed to ensuring equitable employment practices and continue to make progress in providing equitable opportunities throughout our organizations. Diversity is core to everything we do, and there are few issues on which our clubs and our internal leadership team spend more time. We will defend against these claims, which are without merit.”
Previously: Brian Flores, the former coach of the Miami Dolphins who was fired last month, has filed a racial discrimination lawsuit against the NFL and three of its teams, dropping a bombshell in the run-up to the Super Bowl.
