Buzz Brockway
Buzz Brockway is a candidate for Georgia Secretary of State. From 2011 - 2018 he was a State representative for the 102nd District in Gwinnett County which covers parts of Lawrenceville and Suwanee. He has lived in Lawrenceville since 1976. He graduated from the Georgia
Institute of Technology in 1990 with a Bachelors of Science in Management Science with a certificate in Economics. He worked as an operations manager in the plastics manufacturing industry for over 20 years before he and his wife started their own business in 2005.
Buzz has been active in Republican Party politics since 1997 and has held many offices in the Gwinnett Republican Party, including Chairman from 2002 - 2005.
He graduated from Coverdell Leadership Institute (now known as Republican Leadership for Georgia) in 2001. After his term as Chairman, Buzz served as Gwinnett Chairman for Governor Sonny Perdue's reelection campaign in 2006. Buzz has also managed successful campaigns for Former State Representative Melvin Everson, State Representatives David Casas and Josh Clark, and Former County Commissioner Mike Beaudreau.
From 2005 - 2015 he wrote and served as Assistant Editor at Peach Pundit, then Georgia's leading political website.
In 1993 he married Christa and they have 3 daughters, Elizabeth Hope, Grace Kathryn and Emily Joy. They attend Victory at Hamilton Mill Church in Buford where he and his wife Christa, lead a Married Life small group.
He was elected to the legislature in 2010, working on legislation to fight human trafficking, reform election law, protect student data privacy, and allow college students to protect themselves with stun guns on campus.
