LONDON -- Universal Pictures U.K. topped the list of winners at Thursday night's annual British Video Association Awards, picking up nods for marketing initiatives in film, children's and special interest, and for the British film of the year.
The ceremony at Old Billingsgate Market also saw Revolver Entertainment take home two BVA trophies: one for its marketing initiative in the nontheatrical category and the second for the creative initiative of the year for "The Zombie Walk", which promoted the film "The Zombie Diaries".
Eagle Rock Entertainment, 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment, Liberation Entertainment, Momentum Pictures and EMI garnered nods in the other marketing and production categories.
Specialist home entertainment retailer HMV and online rentals operator LoveFilm also were rewarded by the BVA, while GreenRoom Digital was named agency of the year.
The BVA lifetime achievement award went to Barrie Gold of wholesaler S. Golds & Sons, whose 50 years in the business was celebrated by about 1,000 attendees on the night.
