Though it simply wouldn't be true to say that most fan films are worth watching, there's nevertheless something about them that is endlessly alluring. In the world of fan-made films, absolutely Anything is possible, allowing for fun mash-ups and crossovers that the studios would never be able to provide for us. Want to see Leatherface battle Jason? Freddy go toe-to-toe with Michael Myers? Your wish is YouTube's command!
Though Evil Dead's Ash has never crossed over with any other franchise characters in the world of movies, he has encountered Jason, Freddy and even Herbert West in the world of comic books. A five-issue comic series was also launched in 2007 called Marvel Zombies vs. Army of Darkness, which pit the chainsaw-handed one-liner spouting badass against zombified versions of Marvel's most iconic superheroes. Though it's highly unlikely that we'll ever see such wild imagery leap off of the page and onto the screen,...

Even though Evil Dead's hero Ash (the mighty Bruce Campbell) hasn't been on the big screen since 1992, his story has actually continued in the pages of Dynamite Comic's Army of Darkness series. One of the most popular stories from the run is a crossover between Dynamite and Marvel Comics, Marvel Zombies vs. Army of Darkness, where Ash has to tangle with undead versions of Marvel superheroes, themselves subject to a popular run of mini-series born from an idea by Kick-Ass creator Mark Millar. Now the Marvel Zombies, let alone the Army of Darkness crossover, is something we will never, ever see on the big screen, so thankfully director Brian Rosenthal has put together this awesome fan film (which he also shot and edited). Starting off with Peter Parker and Gwen Stacy running from a zombie attack, it features a perfect Bruce Campbell impersonation from actor David Vonhippchen, and a...

Considering the outlandish nature of the comic book series, it's very likely that fans will never see a big screen version of the Marvel Zombies limited series. The five-issue run is set in an alternate universe where the world's superhero population has been infected with a virus which turned them into zombies. Therefore, it's even less likely that we'll see that other five-issue comic book series that followed: Marvel Zombies vs. Army of Darkness. That comic book series brings Bruce Campbell's Ash character from the third film in Sam Raimi's horror series into the Marvel zombie world, and makes for some epic horror mash-up goodness. Now someone has taken the time and passion to craft a fan film bringing the series to life. Watch! Here's Brian Rosenthal's Marvel Zombies vs. Army of Darkness from Geek Tyrant: The story follows Peter Parker and Gwen Stacy trying to survive a zombie apocalypse,...
