- Eric is a master of vocal impersonations and can do hundreds of vocal characterizations and realistic incidental sounds and musical instruments using only his voice.
- A fan of African style pop music, Eric also manages popular African musical group K-Bass and Farafina Musiki, headlined by sports star turned singer Bassirima Soro (aka K-Bass).
- Eric can frequently be seen wearing a black fedora with a wide brim at events and conventions. This is an homage to the great movies stars of the 1940s.
- One of Eric's teachers in voice over was the late Lucille Bliss, best known as the voice of Smurfette in the 1980s NBC Saturday Morning Cartoon series.
- One of Eric's mentors was the late Paul Mantee, best known for his role as Cmdr. Christopher 'Kit' Draper in the 1964 cult sci-fi classic Robinson Crusoe on Mars.
- Eric was trained by his parents, actor Paul Schumacher and actor and voice coach Joan Schumacher. His training began at the age of 6.
- Several of Eric's biggest roles were won through mass auditions.
