- Grew up with award-winning music-producer and writer T-Bone Burnett, actor Dan Hewitt Owens and Tony Award winning actress Betty Buckley.
- graduated from Paschal High School in Fort Worth, Texas.
- An active youth acting coach in Texas, Sharon taught and traveled with actress Lisa Whelchel (Facts of Life) early in her career.
- Sharon had a regional hit single out on the Dot Label in 1965, titled "Nobody Likes it but Us." Among her many appearances, she performed with Freddy and the Dreamers, The McCoys and the Beau Brummels on New Years Eve 1966 and toured with the all-girl band, The Candy Canes in 1967.
- Sharon worked at Casa Manana Theater in Fort Worth, TX, with Nanette Fabray, Ruta Lee, Brad Maule, Cindy Pickett and Noel Harrison.
- Sharon first appeared on television at the age of 5, singing and dancing regularly on a weekly television show in the Fort Worth/Dallas area. Later, in her teen years when she had a Top Ten hit on the Dot Label, Sharon even had an arranged date with Bob Dylan.
