Meeshelle 'Meesh' Neal is a multi-award-winning filmmaker known to tackle difficult subject-matter with a surreal edge while remaining grounded in the nuanced complexity of human emotion. Her directing work spans a wide variety of genres, and has screened at festivals worldwide as well as on networks such as CityTV, CTV, Crave, Lifetime and Paramount+.
She is in development on multiple feature films and TV shows.
Along with writing / producing / directing independent projects and working her way up through various departments in the industry, Meesh's craft was further honed by industry heavy-hitter Gary Harvey who mentored her from 2018 - 2021. With Gary, Meesh experienced multiple hands-on apprenticeships, where she was directly involved from prep through to post on: Murdoch Mysteries (CBC), Welcome to Christmas (Hallmark), Hudson & Rex (Citytv) & Tiny Pretty Things (Netflix).
For the first time in School Creative's history, as a student, she was paired with a teacher, Linda Darlow, in a scene from
Collected Stories, for Meeshelle's graduation showcase.
