Leigh Belair
- Actor
- Additional Crew
After watching "Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back" (1980), at his
local Drive-In theater, Leigh Belair (as a child) looked up at his
parents and said, "I want to be an actor when I grow up". He wanted to
be the person on screen that was able to make a person feel, the way he
felt, when watching films. This career path proved more difficult than
expected. Being from New Hampshire, Leigh had many obstacles to over
come. Bridging the distance between him and California and the money it
would take to pursue his dreams was a major hurdle. In 1997 Leigh
joined the U.S. Army, hoping the travel would help close the distance
between himself and Hollywood...it didn't. What it did bring him, was a
wife and daughter, whom he moved with him back to New Hampshire after
his tour of duty. Leigh's dreams of being an actor were by now, purely
a fantasy. In 2007, Hollywood was drawn to Massachusetts, due to the
Tax incentives. This was Leigh's chance. Despite fearing that he was
deluding himself to his acting abilities, he took the plunge and was
cast in the film "Real Men Cry" (2008). Leigh has since then, gone on
to act alongside many talented actors, including Leonardo Dicaprio,
Ethan Hawke, Mark Ruffalo, Kate Hudson, Anne Hathaway...to mention a
few.
