Mirko Ikonomoff - Producer graduated with honors from the University LUISS Guido Carli, in Rome. While still a student, he began to work with director Vittorio De Sica and served as first assistant director on The Garden of the Finzi Contini which eventually won the Academy Award for best foreign film. He next worked for Michelangelo Antonioni during the preparation of his film, The Passenger starring Jack Nicholson and Maria Schneider. Shortly afterwards, in 1972, Ikonomoff directed his first film, a critically acclaimed one hour made for TV movie for Italian network,
Rai Uno, starring famous Italian silent movie star, Francesca Bettini. His next assignment for Rai was a behind the scenes account of the making of Antonioni's, The Passenger, which Antonioni had not previously permitted for any of his films, and which Ikonomoff was able to bring about as the result of the favorable impression he made on Antonioni while working with him during the film's preparation. For the next fifteen years, Mr. Ikonomoff continued directing numerous programs for Rai, until in 1987, he met producer Steven Paul and Academy Award winning actor, Jon Voight, which gave rise to his working with them on the co-production of Eternity, directed by and starring Voight and scored by acclaimed composer, Michel Legrand. At this juncture, Ikonomoff began to shift focus from directing to international co-productions. Toward this end, Ikonomoff established Victory International in 1988, whose mandate was to seek opportunities for Rai's participation in co-productions and the early involvement of Rai in numerous feature projects.
In 1988 he met with Michelle LeGrande, and decided to collaborate on a film based on "Blind Love" by Patrick Cauvin.
In the following years he continued his collaboration with major actors and filmmakers such as Mickey Rourke and Carrie Otis in Exit in Red (1996), and with Writer/Director, Michael Cimino, on the still un-realized project, Man's Fate, adapted by Cimino from Andre Malraux's 1933 novel about the early days of the Chinese Revolution. Presently Mr. Ikonomoff is developing a co-production of Vivaldi. He has also acquired the rights to the novel "Tu Dentro" by Italian author Emilia Costantini from which he has developed the screenplay and is presently arranging co-financing utilizing the new Italian tax credit legislation which provides tax breaks designed to encourage investment in motion picture production.
