Sony Picture Classics and Trafalgar Releasing have firmed up worldwide release plans for Carlos, their feature documentary on 10-time Grammy-winning musical icon, Carlos Santana.
The film on the father of Latin American jazz fusion will launch in theaters in September with the three-day premiere event, Carlos: The Santana Journey Global Premiere. In addition to the doc itself, the event taking place on September 23rd, 24th and 27th will spotlight exclusive introductory content featuring Santana and pic’s director, two-time Emmy winner Rudy Valdez (The Sentence). The film will then launch into its general theatrical release on September 29th.

On the heels of an overwhelmingly successful virtual premiere attended by close to 6,000 people, National Geographic Documentary Films announced today that it will move forward with release plans for Rebuilding Paradise from Academy Award-winning director Ron Howard and Imagine Documentaries in virtual and physical theaters on July 31, 2020.
The documentary, which first premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January to positive reviews, will open in more than 70 markets through a hybrid release. National Geographic Documentary Films will release the Ron Howard-directed documentary Rebuilding Paradise in select theaters — physical and digital — on July 31 through Abramorama. The film tells the moving story of a California community ravaged by disaster that comes together to recover what was lost. The doc premiered at Sundance and was a recent selection at AFI Docs and will play next week at the Edinburgh Film Festival. Imagine Documentaries produced it. For every ticket sold, $1 will go to charities supporting the town of Paradise, California.
