Born in San Diego to a United States Marine Corps mother and a still
active duty Naval father. Was moved to South Carolina at the age of 1
with mother after divorce between the two. Raised in the south between
New Orleans and South Carolina but visited New York frequently to visit
Puerto Rican Family. Half French half Puerto Rican which derives the
nick name "the French Rican". Spent child hood in the theatre with
grandfather Russel Melette who was an active lobbyist for the governor
of South Carolina. Attribute vocabulary to grandfather's steadfast
weekly visits to the book store. Spent teen years back and forth from
NOLA and South Carolina actively pursuing to be a professional
percussionist. After much inner debate, dropped out of high school
junior year to join the United States Marine Corps. Became a Marine at
the age of 17 and finished boot camp as honor man but had to give up
that title for striking another recruit. Stationed in Hawaii while
actively involved in the war on terror as a combat Forward Air
Controller special communications unit. In 2004 after getting married
to now divorced wife Priya Narma-Chaison-Diaz decided to try out for
the Marine Corps Band as a percussionist. This was motivated by deep
inner personnel convictions on what role as a Marine would be played.
Conscientious doubts on Americas imperialistic pursuits set into motion
what would be in the end an early end of active service. Made the Marine Corps Band audition by a hair and was asked to come over. After
current unit finally said no, and was set for deployment to Iraq
Chaison decided that as an American he could and would not involve
himself in a war that was grotesquely corrupt at its root. Filed for
Conscientious objector to the war in Iraq in July of 2004. Was released
from active duty honorably just before the new year in 2005. Currently
living in Hollywood as an actor and professional drummer.
